I don't recommend purchasing filler yourself. It can only legally be sold to a Doctor or licensed professional. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Today it's become far too easy to sell and buy unregulated products online. I would strongly advise against having any remainder of that product injected into your lips, and instead suggest visiting a board-certified cosmetic surgeon who can evaluate the situation and make a recommendation for the best way to move forward.

There is no way of knowing whether the product you bought online was actually Juvederm, or something completely different in a counterfeit bottle.  Don't do this - it's not worth the minor cost savings.And the nurse who injected you should certainly know better !

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I am sorry to hear of your filler related issues. Unfortunately purchasing these fillers over the internet does not guarantee that you received the real product as only physicians can purchase these in the US.  Administration of the fillers by a medical profession is actually illegal when the filler is purchased in this manner. In order to help you restore a natural appearance I would see an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to evaluate what was injected and to try dissolving the agent.  Hope this helps.

fillers are not legally sold to anyone besides a physician, Sadly I might have not been juvederm that you bought and you are very lucky nothing serious happened to your lips. I would go to a board certified plastic surgeon to be evaluated to have the lumps you are experiencing dissolved

Fillers are not legally sold to patients, nurses, aestheticians or anyone other than a physician in the US.  If you bought something online, there is no telling what was in it (even if it came in a similar syringe or box).   Nodules or lumps 6 months after lip injections are not common.   Please see a licensed provider for evaluation.  Best of luck.

Repeating the first mistake (injecting an unknown filler by someone who should not be doing it) will not help. See a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for a proper assessment & treatment. See link below for examples. 

Be very careful of products purchased online.  These unfortunately as not regulated and are most often counterfeit products that may not be manufactured to the proper sterility and safety standards.  I would always recommend getting your aesthetic procedures performed by a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist experienced in aesthetic surgery.  The cost savings in not worth the potential risk.  The injected product may be permanent and may require surgical excision to remove.  Good luck!

There is no way of knowing what product you actually have injected. Allergan (Juvederm) and Galderma (Restylane ) sell directly to providers to guarantee product authenticity. As a board certified plastic surgeon I am only legally able to purchase through the company.  If it is HA, it will eventually dissolve or you can see someone to inject hyaluronidase to dissolve more quickly. Unfortunately, you have no way of knowing unless you perhaps have the lot # and can call the company product line here in the US.
