Is a strapless, wireless, post-surgical support bra okay to wear after a Breast augmentation?

You should definitely check with your plastic surgeon but my first thought is that a strapless bra offers very little support and the top band could press into the upper pole of the breasts which is undesirable so soon after surgery.  Most patients are in the bra recommended by their surgeon for a minimum of 2 weeks then transition to another wireless bra that is more fashionable.

It depends how far from surgery you are and how large you have become. There is less vertical support with a strapless bra so when you walk or go down the stairs, the breasts are bounced up and down. If you are just a few days out, it is not recommended but if you are a month away, no problem.

I would not recommend wearing a strapless bra post op for a few weeks for general use. However, if you are talking about using it once in a while for a few hours to wear a garment for an event, then I would probably say OK. Discuss with your surgeon. Good luck.

As long as the bra provides adequate support and is wireless, it should be fine. You might want to place pads on the incision lines until they are well healed usually about 4 weeks.

First of all thank you for the question.  I would recommend discussing your options with your plastic surgeon and following his or her advice.  I recommend that my patients do not wear any type of bra for the first 2 weeks.  After 2 weeks post op. any type of bra would be okay as long as it does not rub on the incision or is uncomfortable.

who will know exactly what garment(s) to get and where in your area for your

Thank you for your question.  I prefer the complete support afforded by a normal postsurgical bra that provides shoulder support to the implant and breast at least during the first few days after breast augmentation.  Of course the most important thing is that she discussed this with your plastic surgeon and follow his or her advice.
