If you're going back to your original surgeon for the injections I think you should not pay at all. Otherwise they are cheap, may $100 each time
You do NOT need four shots, usually just one, or sometimes a second treatment several months later works quite nicely to shrink down skin of the nose, defining a smaller, cuter, result. We use Kenalog 40, more potent than Kenalog 10, which perhaps is the foundation of our success in a single (inexpensive) session.
Hello and thank you for your question. If you are being administered steroid injections to improve excess scarring and inflammation after a rhinoplasty, then this is typically done anywhere from several weeks to several months after a rhinoplasty once adequate healing has occurred, and will likely not be an additional fee. Please discuss this with your plastic surgeon. For more information on rhinoplasty, please refer to the link below.Good luck.Mark K Markarian, MD, MSPHHarvard-trained Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon
Hi. Im not sure where you are coming up with the info that you have to get 4 shots. There is no such thing. If you had a nose job and your surgeon sees excess scar tissue then he may recommend a steroid injection. The first injection determines if you need more. You may only need 1 shot. Or you may need 2 or you may need 10. Its hard to tell because it depends on your reaction to each shot. Personally I do not ever charge my patient for a steroid shot after I have done their nose job unless someone else did the surgery. Most of the time I will not inject a nose that I did not operate on because only the surgeon can tell what is scar tissue and what is excess cartilage. Steroids do have risks and can cause skin dimples.
Rhinoplasty is a surgery to improve the shape of the nose for breathing or appearance.Steroid (Kenalog or triamcinolone) injections are selectively used after a rhinoplasty surgery to manage scar tissue or thick skin. There are different strengths available. Kenalog-40 is more potent than Kenalog-10. I only perform conservative steroid injections on my own rhinoplasty patients. The risk with steroid injections is thinning the skin too much. This is called dermal atrophy, which is difficult to treat. I would discuss this with your own surgeon for a safe and happy outcome. Safety comes first.
In our practice, we only perform steroid injections for our own patients who we have performed a rhinoplasty upon. The steroid injections are free of charge as part of the post operative follow-up appointments to manage the soft-tissue envelope over the cartilaginous/ bony framework of the nose
Hello,Thank you for your question and the picture. My professional opinion is that it is not necrosis. I would trust your doctor because he saw your nose in person and has a better uunderstanding on what is going on. Follow his instructions with the medicine, and if it doesn't get better in 2-3 ...
Thank you for your question. Your nose does not appear big, because the nose is a very individual characteristic that must be considered in context with the rest of your face and facial features. If you would like to learn more about your nose, I suggest that you move forward and consult with a ...
There is increased nostril show that can happen from alar retraction and /or loose hanging columella. It would be easier to make the columellar shorter than trying to fix the alar retraction. A conservative resection of the membranus septum behind the columella with reduce the nostril show. If ...
Hello,Although thick skin is harder to work with while performing a rhinoplasty, it is very doable. I suggest consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who performs scarless rhinoplasty as 100% of his/her surgical practice and does hundreds of these procedures a year so they know how to ...
Thank you for your question on this complex topic. In short, Spirox implants mainly improve external nasal valve collapse. However, this is temporary as the implant is resorbable and dissolves over time. Some physicians believe that the results are long-lasting, though, due to scar tissue...
Hello, After an alarplasty the tip plasty might be necessary to make your nose look even. If you do like your nasal tip already, voice that to your doctor and see if you can find an alternative. The nasal tip refinement doesn't have to be done if you think it will give you stress in the long run...
