Hi, I am into my 7 month post otoplasty and my ears are still quite sensitive.. I have been religious in my post operative care and have not banned them off of anything. Over the weekend, a friend hugged me too close and banged my ear off her head and today I hit the side of my bar into a barbel at the gym. The bang at the gym today was quite sore and my ear has been throbbing a bit since. I’m afraid that it will pop back out again because of it. I don’t know if I’m being irrational..

Hello, two techniques are generally used in ear aesthetic surgeries. In the first of these, the ear cartilage is cut and removed and the ear is brought closer to the head. In the second technique, the ear cartilage is removed and the ear is fixed backwards with permanent sutures. In the method in which permanent stitches are used, pain in the form of stinging is felt, especially when touched, for months, sometimes for years. What you're talking about is more of a feeling of discomfort, as I understand it, in the form of sensitivity. it is necessary to distinguish between the two. If there is a needle prick pain, this indicates permanent stitches there. If it is of a more sensitive nature, this suggests that it is related to the traumas you have received and the surgery you have had.
