Exparel for otoplasty?

I had my pre-op today and my surgeon recommends Exparel as longer lasting effect for pain recovery...as I am really nervous about being in a lot of pain. Can I get some feed back on this please?

You have what is known as a Darwinian tubercle and they are quite common. Easy enough to remove. Not so easy to do it and get a perfect unnoticeable result. I've turned many down that I've seen and recommend leaving it alone.

This can be corrected by a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in cosmetic ear surgery. Your ears may be setback more and the prominence of your lobes can be reduced so everything sits closer to sides of your head.

Thank you for your question. Smoke is damaging to small blood vessels, and this is especially true for healing wounds. Avoidance of second-hand smoke would be advised, especially during the first few days of healing. All the best. -Dr. P
