I had my ears pinned back 6 months ago and I'm not totally satisfied with the results. I really liked my right ear results, but the left ear looks weird to me. I'm not sure if I'm being reasonable about it. But, if my concern makes sense, a description of what is wrong would be really helpful. Thank you in advance.
As part of a rhinoplasty procedure I had ear cartilage removed from the back of the ear for a graft. It has been over a year since surgery and the discomfort remains. Is this likely to be due to scarring? If so, can this be treated? Also, can cartilage - whether the original cartilage in my nose, rib cartilage, cadaveric cartilage or any other material be inserted back into the ear?
The upper helix/scapha of my left ear is larger and protrudes more than the right, and I have a small Darwins tubercle. Since I had otoplasty many years ago (with possible scapha weakening near the antihelix), Id like to know what technique, could flatten the protruding area (upper helix/scapha) so that it bends and lies flat to my head to match my right ear. I am looking at the non invasive (Merck) stitch method but there are only doctors in Germany.
I had surgery on both ears twice. During the first surgery, I had injured them, so I had to have another operation. Its been 5 years since the second surgery, and I was wondering if I could start boxing. I should mention that my ears are not flexible; instead, they are rigid.
Had ear surgery for almost 2 years ago and still think my ears look asymmetrical and weird. One of the ears also have a pointy antihelical fold which a think look extremely ugly and unnatural. Should it look and feel like this or can ut be reversible. I just think that I made a terrible mistake and would never done this if I knew the outcome :( And yes I may have BDD so this surgery did not help to be honest.
I'm 16, and for the past 3 years most of the day I've been wearing a computer headset, and I've noticed my ears are pushed back more than they were before, my right one noticeably more than the left. If I stop using the headset will they go back to normal, and after how long? Thanks
Surely the swelling should be subsiding not still going after 6 weeks. My ears have just started protruding more. I was so happy with them. But today feel like they are sticking out more than normal and swelled. My right ear even more than my left. Could it be the heat causing this as it is a hot day today? They feel like a very slight burning sensation. I can not lie on them still as it's uncomfortable and still wear a band at night. My helix and anti helix is swollen, aswell as the back.
Hello, 3 weeks ago, I had an otoplasty (ear pinning) surgery. I am mostly happy with the results, however I feel that my ears still protrude on top a bit. I would like opinions on my results so far. Will my ears flatten closer to my head once more swelling and bruising go down over time? I've attached before and after photos. The photo taken in the car is today, 3 weeks post surgery. The photos taken indoors was me before I had surgery.
2.3 weeks post op otoplasty Excellent aesthetic result but Im concerned my swelling upper part of ear hasnt settled. Looks like hematoma? Same swelling from the start but I thought would have settled by now Still very tender and itchy. Thank you
Dear doctors, I am 1.5 weeks post otoplasty. It seems like my ears are sticking further and further every day. I feel like immediately after the surgery they looked perfect, but now they are almost back to the previous position. There is still swelling, and the scar scabs are still in place. Is it possible that when they are healed, they will become closer to the head? Or will a correction be required? Thank you very much in advance!
