Is this rippling at 3 months post-op? (Photos)

Thanks for your inquiry and pictures, it is hard to tell about rippling from the pictures, you do not have bottoming out,  it is not uncommon to ripple some on the lower aspect of the breast, please discuss with your surgeon, good luck. 

You do not appear to be bottoming out. Rippling is possible in this area because it is below the lower edge of the pectoralis muscle and the tissues are thinner here. It is hard for me to see whether or not there is rippling in the pictures you submitted. Follow up with your surgeon for an evaluation.

Thank you for your questions.  Looking at the photos it doesn't seem to be that you have rippling of the implant.  You may have a little fold in your implant, or it could be some lumpiness in your breast tissue.  I would suggest following up with your surgeon to have an in person exam and then following their recommendations. Without examining you it is difficult to be certain but it appears as though it is just some irregularity of the breast tissues that is being exaggerated a bit because of the implants. I don't see any rippling in the typical sense that we discuss it. If you are really concerned I'd suggest booking an appointment with your surgeon to be examined and reassured. Hope that helps!

It´s very difficult to make an evaluation only with pictures and the rippling is not that noticeable at least in the photos. Sometimes the tissues are very thin and we are able to feel the implant. It´s still very in your healing process so there might be some swelling, be sure to visit your plastic surgeon for follow up, congratulations your result looks very good. Keep taking care of yourself and don´t worry I think you are going to be fine.

The muscle covers only the upper and inner parts of the implant, so it is normal to feel the implants more along the bottom and sides. It is possible that over time the muscle will push down on the implant, contributing to bottoming out. Some surgeons recommend limiting pec isolation exercises for that reason. Also, some types of implants tend to ripple more than others.

It can be difficult to assess you based off your photos alone and is always best obtain an in-person assessment.  At 3 months post-op it is not uncommon for patients to have rippling.  It can occur in one breast more so than the other.  The purpose of overfilling in saline implants is to prevent rippling, but can still occur in both silicone and saline, despite the overfill.

From your photos, you appear to have a very nice result from your surgery. By three months post op, the swelling has resolved and the implants have settled. At this point, you should be doing a full range of activities without restriction.Patients with only modest breast tissue and little body fat will usually be able to feel the implant at this point, particularly in the bottom of the breast. Placing the implants under the muscle helps to minimize this, and the problem is generally much milder with silicone implants than saline. Unless the problem becomes more severe, I would not be too concerned. Correction would require placement of a tissue substitute (ADR), to thicken the tissue coverage which is another operative procedure which is quite expensive.
