Nipples lost about 60% erection reaction after breast aug revision/Benelli Life.

Question

It’s been 4 and half month since my revision and Benelli breast lift procedure. My sensation is fully gone, but my nipples do not get errect as they normally used to. They react slowly to touch but they get flat again. They are far less reactive, they used to be erredt easily and most times. will the errection return of should it have returned by now?

Thank you for your questions. Numbness and changes in sensation and function can be a known complication of surgery. Sometimes these return gradually over time, but this can often take several months, even up to a year or more. But sometimes those changes are permanent. Only time will tell.Good luck!Dallas R. It depends on the operation but often times sensation can return in a couple of weeks, a year, or not at all.  Nipple sensation itself is very important and can sometimes be lost with breast surgery. Having 40% nipple erectile function at four and a half months is encouraging.  Over the next several months, it is possible that you may regain normal erectile function as swelling resolves.

The nerves that supply the feeling and the ability of the nipple to become erect are not severed during breast surgery, but are stretched, and can malfunction after the procedure (neuropraxic injury).  It takes 9 months to a year for the nerves to repair themselves, they grow very slowly.  Be patient.Good Luck!

Loss of nipple sensation and nipple erectile function after these types of surgery can be temporary or permanent. The fact that you have some function at this point is encouraging and may indicate that the return of function will continue to improve over the coming months. Generally, whatever return of sensation and nipple function you have at about 12 months from your surgery will likely be the long term result.

Though a rare complication or postoperative sequela decreased N/A sensation after multiple surgeries occurs. If not improved by 18 months than must be considered a permanent side effect of the surgeries you had.
