Hi Taraferma,I am Sarah, a medical assistant at Aesthetic Skin MD with Dr. Anil Shah in Chicago. I would advise to pick one filler over the other for a singular treatment even though they most likely would not have adverse effects with each other. Since the filler comes in quite large syringes, you would probably not need more than one syringe of filler, depending on the final look you are going for.
You certainly can use 2 different products at the same time. Remember Sculptra should be used for facial hollowing around the periphery of the face for fullness. Restylane Defyne is great for cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Combinations work great together. Hope this helps. JB
It is a runny filler that won't hold where it is placed. Yes I know what the marketers say. Sculptra is also a bad product in my opinion. The biggest issue with Sculptra is that your doctor can't control the results and when there is an unwanted effect, it can't be removed. I think Restylane for the lip and Restylane Lyft for the chin is a much better option. Be careful out there. Make sure that your injector does not use hebiclens or other chlorhexidine skin preps on the face. These products can cause damage to the eyes.
I often use combination fillers to get immediate results from some of the hyaluronic acid fillers and the more long term collagen stimulation from fillers like Sculptra. By injecting the Sculptra deep to the hyaluronic acid fillers you can create a scaffold with the additive results from two different types of fillers. Sculptra will take several sessions to reach its full potential, and typically these are spaced 6-8 weeks apart.
Yes, all the mentioned fillers, Refyne, Defyne, and Sculptra can be injection simultaneously in the lower face. Refyne would be most superficial. As stated in your other question, injection of the Refyne and Defyne in the dermis has give quite long term results which I attribute to collagen stimulation. Adding Sculptra will provide longer results as well by further collagen formation.
I personally like using Juvederm Plus in this area since it will plump the area even more in the next 2 weeks after the injections are placed. It is important to place enough filler to completely fill the area. Think of an 8 oz glass. If you only put in 4 oz, it will not look full. I would seek consultation with a physician experienced in treating this area and would ask the physician to show you examples of patients that they have treated so you can see the quality of their work. Juvederm Plus will last up to 1 year and you will actually make natural collagen from the irritation that is created from placing the filler. This can look very natural and does not look like filler has been placed when done by an experienced physician. Best wishes, Mary Beth Mudd
Don't inject both at the same time. Sculpta has bacteriostatic water injected with it, it will dilute your fillers if you place them at the same time. If you put fillers in first, wait 9 months to add Sculptra. If you add Sculptra first, the time is shorter - I think it is close to 1 month after you can inject fillers. Keep in mind, often times Sculptra is a 3x treatment plan. So... Scuptra now, in 2 months, and in 4 months. So wait until all treatments are done and THEN touch up with fillers is my recommendation.
Hi @gaboo123! I recommend dissolving the lumps with Hyaluronidase. When filler is injected too superficially, lumps can appear. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
It is hard to give a good opinion about your question without a picture. Sometimes lasers or Infini are needed to improve lines around the mouth. However, in many cases, superficially place filler using small needles can also help. The improvement should last 9 months approximately. Silk tends...
Hi GirlofGratitude, I am Sarah, a medical assistant at Aesthetic Skin MD with Dr. Anil Shah in Chicago! It takes hyaluronidase 24 to 48 hours to start working and about a week to fully dissolve the filler, so I would wait a week or two before seeing a provider for more hyaluronidase.
