Dermaplaning after Restylane injections?

I received Restylane Defyne injections in my laugh lines 3 days ago and I'm beyond pleased! Is it safe to get a dermaplaning treatment at this time? If not, what is an appropriate waiting period?

The product can still be manipulated in the tissue until about day 10 or do.  Wait about this time or more before getting a dermaplaning.

Restylane Defyne is one of my favorite dermal fillers. You can safely get dermaplaning and/or other procedures after 14 days. Enjoy!

Thank you for your question.  Dermaplaning can be done fairly soon after your Restylane injection depending on where/how it was injected.  I would definitely wait if your are swollen/bruised from your treatment.  I would double check with your injector if there are any circumstances why they would want you to wait longer.

We love the results our patients are receiving from both Defyne and Refyne.  We advise our patients to avoid facials for up to 2 weeks after fillers, however, they may resume dermaplaning in our office 5-7 days post fillers.  Others will coordinate their dermaplaning immediately prior to fillers.  Best of luck!

I would not have any hesitation about getting dermaplaned after any filler. The filler is placed much deeper than the treatment gets and there should be no adverse affects.

I ask my patients to wait 2 weeks before having any facial treatments done after fillers.  I am more concerned about infection rather than moving the filler.  With dermaplaning, there is a chance of a small nick where bacteria could enter and this must be avoided for the first 2 weeks after filler.  You should also avoid dental treatment 2 weeks around fillers for the same reason.

Patients are usually advised to avoid any facials, microdermabrasion or chemical peels for about 2 weeks post injection related to the risk of the pressure from these procedures displacing the filler. I think it is safe at this point to have dermaplaning done. Make sure to advise the care provider that you have had filler placed three weeks ago just to make sure that they are aware or should have different time frames according to their practice.

It may be reasonable to wait about 10-14 days before scheduling your dermaplaning. It's unlikely that dermaplaning, microdermabrasion or facial massage would be unsafe or displace your injectables after a short waiting period. In the future, you may want to schedule your dermaplaning therapy before receiving Restylane Defyne. Best wishes.

It's a good idea to avoid facials and massages for up to 2 weeks after filler injections, as the pressure can move and displace your filler.  Generally, dermaplaning does not involve firm pressure to the face, and should be safe at this point - some patients even opt to have it done the same day as filler treatments.  Best of luck!
