I can still feel the filler in my lips and they’re still sore. It’s been two weeks is that normal? I’ve developed a hard ball in the middle of my top lip you can’t really see it but i can feel it. Is it just me or my top lip is bigger than my bottom. I feel like the lady ran out of filler for my bottom lip. The clinic I went to said it looks good but I’m not too impressed. Any advice? Should I just wait till it wears off or try and get it fixed? Am I just being too picky?

Answer: Restylane lumps Thank you so much for the for the great photos. We usually try to do 1/3 to 2/3 (or 1 to 1.618) ratio of the upper lip to lower lip. I recommend that if it has been less than 2 weeks let the filler settle as Restylane causes a lot of swelling but that resolves within the first 24-48 hours. If you are not happy with the lumpiness or feel that the ratio or upper to lower lip is off then consider hyaluronidase to dissolve the unwanted filler. I would recommend seeing your board certified treating dermatologist or plastic surgeon for further consultation.

Answer: Give it time... I appreciate your dilemma. The result indeed looks good. I strongly suspect this is swelling. Refyne and Defyne do not lump very much. I suggest you check with your injector again in 2 to 3 weeks. You can always have it dissolved, but you will likely also lose all your injected volume.Good luck. Dr. ALDO
