It depends if the lumps are bruising or products. If it is bruising, then yes, it is normal to have bruising after injections and you might have a hematoma present for up to 2 weeks. If it a bump of filler that you need dissolved, no this isn't always normal. I would recommend a threading technique over bolus technique to prevents balls of filler from forming. That being said, filler CAN still ball up and create balls that need to be dissolved. Best to discuss with your injector. Best of luck!

Due to swelling and bruising skewing the final results, I always tell my clients to judge their final results after 2 full weeks. Give your body time to let the swelling and bruising go down. Then, you will se your final results. If you are unhappy at that point, return to your injector for touch ups and/or dissolving some of the filler. Filler will integrate even better with your own tissues over the coming weeks. 

Yes, bruising and swelling are normal after lip injections. Lips are a very vascular area. I recommend avoiding any blood thinners for 2 weeks prior to injections, and also limit your caffeine and alcohol intake. Make sure you schedule it out two weeks prior to any big events. Best of luck!
