Hello, my name is Lauren, and I’m the aesthetics injector at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. Typically, Defyne is used to treat areas in the lower face and is not used in the cheeks.
Thank you for your question. Yes, Restylane Defyne can be used in the cheek area. Other options might be Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lyft. Defyne is also an excellent option for treating nasolabial folds, as the XpresHAn technology maintains the natural movement of the face while the filler smooths out the creases. As long as you are working with an experienced, qualified injector, the product your injector decides to use after an in-person examination should give you a very good result.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Defyne fallers somewhere around the Ultra and Vollure products fo Juvederm but it is not advisable to be used in the cheeks as Lyft/Voluma are better options at achieving lift and volume. Hope this helps.
I am a big user of these fillers over Juvederm. The new Restylane fillers ( Defyne and Refyne) now don't stay stagnate in the face they adjust to motion giving a more natural appearance. For cheeks I like Lyft or Defyne. Lips are improved greatly with Defyne. For smokers lines nothing beats Restylane Refyne. Juvederm isn't as natural and draws a lot of water therefore more swelling. Try the newer products and you will love the results. JB
Nothing! Defyne is in its won category along with Refyne. Both products are highly mobile and do not form lumps. Excellent products!
Restylane Defyne and Juvederm Vollure XC are both hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, particularly in the nasolabial folds (smile lines). They are comparable in terms of their purpose and target areas, providing a similar duration of results. However, the specific formulation and characteristics may vary, so it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional to determine which product is best suited to your individual needs.
Defyne and Voluma are fairly similar in the G', in the mid 200's. The difference is that Defyne has XpresHAn technology which allows it flexibility. Duration of action is similar in my opinion but Voluma folks will tell you that theirs is longer. A few years ago I did a cheek challenge with Lyft and Voluma and they both lasted 1 year. I think the same with Defyne. I like Defyne over Lyft in patients that are younger and don't require as much Lyft or cheek structure. I gives a little softer cheek lift.
All of the various Juvederm and Restylane products have a specific function and are different. An experienced physician injector will have a range of these products and will know which product to choose for the desired effect. Restylane Defyne can definitely be used for the cheeks and the closest Juvederm product would probably be Volift.
Thank you for your question. Allergan does not have a corresponding product to Restylane Defyne in its Juvederm product line because the technology behind Defyne is unique. While Defyne can be used on the cheekbones, I generally select Restylane Lyft for this location as it has the highest lifting capability of all the hyaluronic acid fillers. Defyne can be used when restoring more of an apple cheek without the need to lift is the indication.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
Thanks for your question. Restylane Defyne is an excellent dermal filler, it's closest "cousin" in terms of flexibility score would be Juvederm Ultra Plus. However, if you are looking for a cheek lift/volumization with dermal filler placed "on the cheek bones" the product usually used for that is Restylane Lyft because it has the highest support score (which we call G prime) and is therefore best able to "project" the cheek. Some will compare Restylane Lyft to Juvederm Voluma, but the Restylane Lyft has a significantly higher G prime than the Voluma and the duration of effect is the same.Best,Lisa Vuich, MD
