I am a retired 71 yo physician who wants her subpectoral breast implants removed. This is mostly a cosmetic decision and I believe I am an excellent candidate for just leaving the capsules in place. I had poor healing after my last surgery 9 years ago when a mastopexy was also performed. My sternal notch to nipple distance is 20cm on each side and I have a fair amount of subcutaneous tissue and skin elasticity is pretty good. I desire to have this more minimally invasive surgery.

Drains are placed to remove excess fluid and prevent a pocket of fluid developing. Occasionally, some thin tissue may also appear in the drain. The white stringy stuff was probably not the capsule but nearby tissue.
En bloc surgery is for cancer surgery ONLY, not for removing implants and capsules. If your gel implants are younger than 2006, then an open incision is needed, since the gel is not liquid. If your gel implants are older, especially before 1992, you have the old gel which needs the capsule and...
You will not be able to take warfarin and have elective surgery. You do need to check with your medical doctor to see if you should be on Lovenox during the time you are off warfarin. This should have already been discussed with you during your consultation.
