Itis best to wait for at least six months after a breast augmentation, or any othertype of invasive breast surgery, before undergoing a mammogram. This is because the effects of surgery andhealing can distort the radiographic image taken during a mammogram. After about six months, healing will becomplete and the scars will have fully matured.
I would suggest waiting a minimum 6 weeks if you urgently need one, 3 months if it is routine. I generally recommend all of my patients get one 6-9 months after surgery in either case to establish a new baseline for the radiologists to compare all future mammograms to. Its best to ask your surgeon what their policy is however. Best of luck!
Hello, and thank you for this question. We generally recommend that patients wait a minimum of 6-12 months following her surgery for the routine scheduled mammography. Some of that would depend on how quickly your healing progresses. Most commonly we will like to place our implants submuscularly.

For a routine mammogram, I recommend waiting until your healing process is fully strong, about 6 weeks. If there is an issue you or your doctor is concerned about, have your surgeon consult your radiologist regarding time, technique,or choice of some adequate substitute for the test.

Strange sounds and sensations are very common after Breast Augmentation. These will usually improve as you continue to heal and the swelling subsides. If you are having any pain or are concerned about what you feel or hear, I would visit your surgeon so he can examine you.
Hi there. Thank you for your post. You are in great shape having breastfed three children and should get a nice result. As is common following multiple pregnancies, the photos suggest you have some breast deflation although the nipple position is still good (not too low). In these situations,...
In general, the cohesive gel or gummy bear breast implants feel a little firmer, as a 5th generation silicone implant, compared to the "regular" or 4th generation silicone implants. There are three companies with these cohesive gel implants and I think Sientra has the softest gel with Allergan...
