I am 5'4", 33yrs, 125lbs, 32AA, athletic, mother of 3 (all breast fed), Is there a specific profile that would suit my body best? I have been trying to decide between 310cc high profile and 335cc moderate profile. I do not want to go too big as I am a competitive skater and run, bike, practice yoga etc. I am looking to restore lost volume from my pregnancies. My breasts have varied in size from 32AA to 36D in the past 5 years. Thank you in advance.
Answer: High profile implants Hi there. Thank you for your post. You are in great shape having breastfed three children and should get a nice result. As is common following multiple pregnancies, the photos suggest you have some breast deflation although the nipple position is still good (not too low). In these situations, high profile implants work well as they tend to give the breast a bit more of a lift than moderate profile implants. This will of course give you a slightly more rounded look but with appropriate pocket position (dual plane) could still give you a nice take off in the upper pole and overall look. The exact size would be best determined during a consultation. Good luck!

Answer: What are the advantages and disadvantages to to moderate vs high profile? (photos) From looking at the pictures, it seems that you would make an excellent candidate for a moderate profile implant. A moderate profile implant will give you a slightly larger base-width dimension, and it has a less severe upper pole slope. This will, in general, provide a much more natural looking breast. The high profile implant will give you a bit more lift, but at the sacrifice of the base-width dimension of the implant. If the surgeon was going to use a very large implant for you, a high profile might not be a bad choice. However, for the modest size implant you are contemplating, I believe the moderate profile implant would be better. Only a consultation with a Board Certified plastic surgeon, at which time you could try on both high and moderate profile implants, will provide you with the answer that you are looking for.

Answer: What are the advantages and disadvantages to to moderate vs high profile? Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice (regarding specific breast implant type/size/profile) to be truly helpful. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery (regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. In bra sizers can be useful communication tools also. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup" or "too big” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may be very helpful during the communication process. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery ( after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers). I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to breast augmentation surgery for very active patients), helps. Best wishes.

Answer: Moderate vs high profile Based on the photos, you appear to be an excellent candidate for moderate profile implants. The choice of the profile is dependent on the patient's goals/expectations and her dimensions. Consult in person with 3 experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeons to understand your options.
