I've noticed that obviously due to the cast and constant taping of my nose after my rhinoplasty the skin on my nose has been very oily. Also I've tried using makeup to cover any blemishes I've had but my skin doesn't want to comply. Is there anything I could do to fix this?

Answer: Oily skin after rhinoplasty Oily skin and blocked pores are almost universal after having the nose taped for a week. I always recommend to my patients to start using any toner or astringent twice per day on a cotton ball to wipe the area. This usually helps resolve the excess oil sooner than if you did nothing. Best of luck

Answer: Oily nasal skin after rhinoplasty Depending on how far postop you are, it is not unusual to have oily skin after your nasal cast and tape are removed. The adhesive that is used to hold the cast and tape in place can cause clogged pores on the nose. Once the cast is removed, it is a normal response for the pores to produce sebum, or the oily substance. This will improve and become less over time.
