Question

My doctor put grafts on the top-sides of the bridge of my now to give more strength to the sides. I current have a lot of noises when I breathe, can that be related to air around the grafts?

Noisy nasal breathing after rhinoplasty could be from many causes such as retained mucous, turbinate enlargement, or septal perforation. The latter tends to sound like a whistling noise.Hope this helps you.Dr. Joseph

From the looks of your photo, you are likely not far into the postoperative course and just got your cast off. Many times after rhinoplasty, there is crusting in the nose that can cause turbulent airflow and sounds as the air is moving through the nose. As the nose heals and the swelling decreases, you will notice that this improves over time. It is unlikely that the air is moving around the grafts and they are internally placed and not sitting directly in the nose.
