Thanks for the question. In this regard, I recommend you a Tummy Tuck to get a flat abdomen and waist and back Liposculpture, getting better curves especially in the waist, improving your body contour. Finally, I suggested take the fat we get and transfer to the buttocks and hips, to mold them and get better volume, contour and butt projection, is that we know as "Brazilian Butt Lift" (BBL).Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Hello @bonitatejiri thank you for your question. Every practice has different requirements for performing a BBL based on BMI that is a weight measure to analyze how risky and optimal the surgery can be, in terms of complications that the patient could have or the results that the patient want to obtain from the surgery. However, It depends on every specialist the requirements for every surgery. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD FACS
Thanks for your question. At my practice, the max Body Mass Index (BMI) limit for a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is 35. The BMI is based on your height and weight. Going by the height and weight you provided you are at 36.8 and do not meet our BMI requirement. Since you are over the BMI limit, I would recommend consulting with your primary care physician on a proper diet for you to bring down your BMI in order to be able to undergo the procedure. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take Care, Moises Salama MD, board certified plastic surgeon
Dear bonitatejiri, generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a BBL, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
With your weight of 235 lbs and height of 5'8", your BMI is 36.8. Most board certified plastic surgeons will not perform a BBL on patients with a BMI over 35. I prefer that my patients have a BMI of 30 or below. The reason, fewer complications during and after surgery and better results. Of course, other things must be considered such as your current health, diet, and exercise program.
The answer is YES, but why???? Your BMI is over 36, this is classified obese. The higher the excess fat the more risks of complications from, during, & after surgery. Also most states have limits upon amounts of supernatant fat allowed to be lipo. In Florida that limi is 4 liters or 8.8 pounds. Based upon your posted photo you are easily well over 12 liters of possible lipo fat. Finally, the BBL results are also limited. So best to lose at least 30-40 pounds before surgery to attain an acceptable result. But if you desire at least 2-3 lipo/BBL rounds of surgery then go ahead and start.
I perform BBL's on larger women with high BMI's. You are still a candidate at my practice provided you do not have other medical issues.Dr. Taranow
A BBL is in fact two procedures done at the same time. The first is liposuction and the second is gluteal fat transfer.Do you really need a bigger bottom?I think what you want is to look more petite and proportionate. The primary problem is obesity and this is directly related to how when and how much you eat.You have an eating disorder and you should address that first and foremost. That is the problem and liposuction or a BBL is not the answer. After a successful hundred pound weight loss you will most likely be an excellent candidate for an extended or wraparound tummy tuck. Most plastic surgeons limit fat removal to 5 L of fat and this is approximately 8 pounds. To put that in perspective it would bring you weight from 235 pounds to 227 pounds. It simply isn’t enough to have a substantial impact. If you have not gotten control over your eating he will most likely simply regain the weight and the procedure will be a waste of money and unnecessary surgical procedure.Weight loss followed by a proper in person consultation with a local board-certified plastic surgeon is the way to go. If you need help losing weight then there are lots of support groups available. I know many people who’ve done well with weight watchers, overeaters anonymous or other structural approaches. Granted you have medical clearance, you are eligible for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). Based on your pictures, you are an excellent candidate for a BBL. The optimal BBL outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACSRealself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
Hi and welcome to our forum!Your lateral view photo doesn't expose the buttocks. However, I note a large hanging abdominal pannus and a full abdomen. Your height and weight data place your BMI at 36.8, a bit on the high side. BMI, or body mass index (weight in kg / square of height in meters) is one criterion to determine the results of a cosmetic surgery. You can find BMI calculators on the internet. If your BMI is greater than 30, the cosmetic result will not be optimal. If your BMI is greater than 35, your operative risk will rise. It may be wise to lose 15 pounds ( BMI 35) before visiting a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion. Best wishes...

The fat from your BBL is the same as fat anywhere else in your body, so losing that fat will take as much exercise as it normally would. If you are not happy with your results and you are finding it difficult to workout and achieve the look you want, this may be resolved using high defintion...
