I’m a college student and am prescribed Adderall. I’m expected to get work done within 4 days after my procedure, which will require me to take my Adderall script. If your medical experience, has Adderall negatively impacted fat transfer results? Is there an increased risk the fat won’t take while on this medication? (My dose is 40mg)
Answer: BBL results Dear Body444, Adderall should have no effect on your BBL results. I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area. Answer: Adderal an issue for BBLs We have a large number of clients who get BBLs and whom are taking Adderall. These patients have not had any adverse reactions to their BBLs. More important consideration is the use of advanced techniques to achieve optimal BBL results. The optimal BBL outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Adderall and surgery Adderall should not have any impact on the procedure itself. There are some potential concerns for anesthesiologists that have to do with his medication interacting with other medication‘s and increasing blood pressure and heart rate. There are also issues with stopping the medication abruptly which can have a rebound effect that is undesirable. Personally I do not abruptly stop patients psychiatric medication‘s for the most part because it can have potentially devastating effects on mental health and my personal experience has been that these medications do not affect surgical outcomes or create significant problems with anesthesia. Some plastic surgeons take a very dogmatic approach to what is acceptable to take and not take because of theoretical or potential complications related to medication‘s and supplements. In reality it is fairly uncommon for patients prescribed medication‘s to have serious detrimental impact on surgery with the exception of blood thinners. In regards to the outcome of the procedure your medication should not have an impact and the outcome of liposuction and fat transfer procedures are primarily determined by the patient’s individual candidacy for the two procedures combined with the skill and experience of the surgeon. That said, delivering consistent high-quality Liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than people believe and for that reason I recommend patient that they’re plastic surgeons carefully by having multiple in person consultations before committing to having the procedure. During consultations ask providers to show their entire collection or before and after pictures not just the two or three examples of their best outcomes of their career. The results of these procedures are permanent in many ways irreversible. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of choosing the most experienced and talented providers. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
