5'5, 158lbs - do I need to lose more weight before a BBL? (Photos)

Question

Hi, I plan to get a bbl since I really want an hourglass shape with tiny waist and to get rid of my hip dips. I have lost around 30 pounds but do not want to loose too much since fat needs to be placed in the butt and whatnot. Does it look like I am at a good weight for a bbl or should I lose more pounds? Thank you

Hello @nosequestionz thank you for your question and showing your pictures. You seem in a good weight for Brazilian butt lift. In this regard, I recommend you waist and back Liposculpture, getting better curves especially in the waist, improving your body contour.

Finally, I suggested take the fat we get and transfer to the buttocks and hips, to mold them and get better volume, contour and butt projection, is that we know as "Brazilian Butt Lift" (BBL).

Thanks for your question. From your pictures, you seem to be a good candidate for the BBL. The BBL includes 360 lipo, which is lipo of the upper and lower abdomen, the upper and lower back and the flanks. In addition, if you do not have enough fat in these areas, liposuction can be performed in many other areas of the body for fat transfer to the buttocks, such as the upper arms, chin, etc. Depending on your desired results, you may be asked to gain some weight. I recommend you schedule a consult for a proper evaluation. Make sure the surgeon you choose has extensive experience in with BBLs and clean credentials. At your height and current weight, your BMI is 26.3 which means you are a few pounds over weight. However, as long as you are in good health and your BMI is 30 or below, you are a good candidate for a BBL. If you choose to drop a few more pounds, do it before the BBL, not after.

You do not need to lose more weight to get a BBL. A good goal weight before your surgery is your comfort weight, a weight you will be comfortable maintaining for the foreseeable future following your surgery. Based on your pictures, you are an excellent candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). The optimal BBL outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. I don’t think you need to lose more weight to have a BBL but most people look better being lean.

I also question if it really need a BBL as much as you need well done Liposuction.

If Liposuction is done and the fat starting at the hip dip your bottom should have fairly ideal curves.  your bottom isn’t particularly small so adding volume to it may or may not be appropriate but you’re the one who gets to decide.

Your body is different than the woman in your wish picture based on the skeletal structure and your results will not look like hers. If you want to know what results will look like they look at before and after pictures of patients who have similar body characteristics to your own.

If you want to get as close as possible to the woman in your wish picture then you probably need to continue losing a substantial amount of weight.

Hi and welcome to our forum!From your photos, I note a full abdomen, flanks, and hips. Skin tone appears satisfactory. BMI, or body mass index (weight in kg / square of height in meters) is one criterion to determine the results of a cosmetic surgery. You can find BMI calculators on the internet. If your BMI is greater than 30, the cosmetic result will not be optimal. If your BMI is greater than 35, your operative risk will rise. Your BMI is 26.29, certainly within the range of a satisfactory result. The result improves with lower BMI's.Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.Best wishes...
