rhinoplasty 11 days ago Goal: remove hump/refine Dr. recommended: remove hump, lift tip, chin implant, neck lipo I respect him so much but I am scared to mention that I do not like the result. I feel my nose is overly upturned/piggy and nose looks flat from the front. My profile is much improved but I don't like my front view now. I'm extremely saddened and am constantly crying now. Is there anything that I can do to get the same front view back and will my tip drop? Will I need revision?
Answer: RHINOPLASTY RESULTS You still have swelling on your nose and what you see in the mirror is not the final result from the surgery. The first 4 weeks, your bridge will look wide and flat, because it is swelling and slowly the swelling will go away, then the nose looks thinner from the front, also because the cast over the nose and tapes, the position on the nostrils look too high, and also in few weeks the nostrils will drop a little and you will not see them as much. Be patient and see how week after week ion the first 3 months the nose will chang and make you look even better.

Answer: Swelling thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time after rhinoplasty. However, based on the photos, you appear to have an excellent result. The swelling will take some time to go down, but I think that you will be happy once the swelling resolves. Hang in there and keep in mind that it takes 12 to 18 months for all of the swelling to go away.

Answer: Unhappy with frontal view after rhinoplsaty I think you have an excellent early result, but the nose is still swollen. The profile view looks good first, but swelling on frontal view takes months for most of the swelling to resolve and year or more for all of it to resolve. Your nose does not look too upturned. However, it can often take a while to adjust to your new appearance. You are in good hands, and would just continue your normal followup. With time the frontal view will improve.

Answer: Swelling after Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. With any nasal surgery, the name of the game is patience. At one week, we would expect you to have quite a bit of swelling and bruising still noticeable and may have trouble breathing out of one or both nostrils. By the end of two weeks, typically, you will still be swollen but look more like you have a bad cold, rather than post surgical. Swelling can take up to a year to be completely gone, however, by 9 weeks you will look very good and should see big difference from your pre-op pics.

Answer: Rhinoplasty You are definitely way too early in the recovery period to be concerned that your result will not be what you desire. In fact, your pictures indicate and excellent result for this early in the process. Do not get discouraged and continue close follow up with your surgeon and don't be shy about sharing your concerns. A good surgeon knows that allaying fears throughout the process (before and after surgery) is part of being good to patients as it can be an emotional journey. Best of luck.
