I had a closed rhinoplasty 7 months ago because I didnt like how wide my nose looked from the front. My surgeon said that correcting my deviated septum would even out my nostrils, which have always been naturally asymmetrical. Post-op, I do see an improvementmy bridge and tip look slimmerbut my nostrils are still noticeably uneven. I dont really mind how they look from underneath, but the asymmetry is visible from the front. I also want to add that I have had no breathing issues, before or after the surgery. Essentially, I am happy with my nose overall, but the only problem is my nostrils. Is there any way to improve nostril symmetry without undergoing a full revision? Since my nostrils were always different in size and shape, is it even realistically fixableand do you think its worth fixing at all?
I am 30 years old, I had my first rhinoplasty in 2017. I got the surgery because I was very insecure as I had a beak nose and always hated it. After my first surgery (with a surgeon in NJ), I was very pleased with the bridge and shape of the nose but as time went on, the right side of my nose began to droop and twist. In 2021, I decided to get a revision with a surgeon in Chicago, again, initially was very pleased with the results but then the right side began to droop and twist. I had a revision with that same doctor in 2023, and the exact same thing happened. At this point I have no idea why this keeps happening, I'm afraid to keep going under the knife as my tip seems to be getting smaller and more pointy. Why would this be happening? What should I do / not do?
Hi! Thank you for reading my question. I had my first nose surgery 13 years ago, and then I had a revision rhinoplasty one month ago. I live in Italy, but I traveled to another country just to have this surgery. Because of my visa and travel limits, I cant stay long enough to wait the full 6 to 12 months thats usually needed to see the final results. Now, about one month after surgery, I see some depressions and uneven shape on the tip of my nose. My surgeon told me to wait about 3 months total, and if the tip still looks the same, he will do a small touch-up surgery (tip plasty) only under local anesthesia, with no cast or tampon, and just a few stitches. My question is: Is this kind of second, small surgery just to fix the tip common or safe among experienced nose surgeons? Is it normal to do a tip correction just a few months after a revision rhinoplasty? I really appreciate any help or answers. Thanks so much!
I had a septo-rhinoplasty done by a great surgeon in 2019. On the left side of my nose, there is a bump. I recently went to my surgeon and they said it was cartilage and not scar tissue, and that cartilage has a memory and can try to go back to original shape. it causes my nose to look slightly crooked/larger on the left side. The surgeon said they would not recommend revision rhinoplasty due to potential complications. Can a revision cause more issues than what its worth?
Hello I had a rynoplasty 8 month ago but am not happy with my results. From front view my nose looks crooked and nostrils look uneven. And from the side profile I developed a hard bump that my surgeon said is cartilage. I never wanted a scooped side profile but ask for a straight profile so Im unhappy with the hump on the lower part of my nose. I feel like it makes the lower part of my nose look heavy. I told my surgeon Im unhappy but he does not want to give me a revision. He said its not worth it. So my question is. Are all little things I want to fix with my nose worth the risk of doing another surgery? Could my nose get worst after a second surgery? Also is there anything else you see wrong with my nose? pollybeak? Should I trust my surgeon to do another surgery if he agrees? Is it a good idea to do I revision with the same dr that did first surgery? Also is I dont do a revision could the hump on the lower part of my nose get worst?? Thank you for ur response in advance. Will post before and after pics.
I had my 2nd revision rhinoplasty (3rd surgery) done in October 24. The cadaver cartilage on one side is extremely prominent and shows through the skin. Is this something that will even out and blend in? Can I have it shaved down without a full surgery again? I cannot stomach thinking about having to go for a fourth rhinoplasty surgery after 3 prior doctors have failed me. Help!
Hello again. I am unhappy with the results of my primary back in 2023. I wanted a more refined, less bulbous version of my nose, but what I have now looks very unnatural. The tip is the same width as my bridge, my nostrils are pointy and the indentations at the base are very pronounced. In my revision, I am aiming to get a more natural look by adding volume to the tip and rounding out the nostrils. Can anyone provide insight as to what went wrong with the original surgery and what else to improve for a more natural look? Open to all suggestions . Thanks for the time.
I had my rhinoplasty over 9 years now, i dont like my front profile and when a picture is taken of me, one side of my nose seems to go down lower..now Im looking for suggestions or if Im just thinking to much about it
I had my rhinoplasty completed in 2021 In Philadelphia. I am no longer in the same area as my surgeon, but I am not 100% happy with my results. The break in my dorsal aesthetic lines is only very noticable in certain lighting, but I am not happy with the appearance. I also now have uneven nostrils and did not have that before. Am I being unrealistic about my expectations for my results?
Hello, I got a rhinoplasty in November of 2023. It has healed nicely, but there is a slight bulge on the left side of my nose. When I push it, I can breathe better out of the right nostril. It feels like the cartilage moves, but once the pressure is gone it goes back. I can breathe out of both nostrils semi decently, but I notice I tend to half smile to flare my right nostril to get a full breath constantly. Its left uneven smile lines since I do it so much. I am thinking about revision options, or other alternatives to help the breathing on this side. It is extremely bothersome. What do you think happened here, and how would I describe this to a plastic surgeon? Thanks in advance!
