Does a lower body lift address/pull down back skin?

Question

Recently had a tummy tuck but looking to turn it into a lower body lift. I have some loose skin above the flanks/mid back, will a lbl pull this down and correct it?

Hello,Thank you for your question regarding whether a lower body lift pulls down the back skin. This is an excellent question. During a lower body lift, 360 body lift circumferential, belt lipectomy, belt abdominalplasty, or belt dermolipectomy, the anterior abdomen is pulled down. 360 circumferential lower body lift, During a he lower back is not pulled down, rather the buttock is undermined and pulled up.  If you want the upper and lower back skin pulled up, I would suggest a vertical or horizontal torsoplasty. some plastic surgeons call the horizontal torsoplasty a brastraplasty.  During these torsoplasty procedures, excess upper and lower back skin is pulled either laterally during a vertical torsoplasty, or upward during a horizontal torsoplasty or brastraplasty. If you have any more questions regarding body lift 360 circumferential lower body lift belt lipectomybelt abdominoplasty, dermolipectomy, vertical torsoplasty, horizontal torsoplasty, brastraplasty, since the body lift is a big procedure, performing the body lift. Do your research.  circumferential lower surgeries and have the before and after pictures to prove it. Thanks for your question. A lower body lift typically focuses on removing any excess skin in the lower back region, and lifting the buttocks and thighs. This may, to some extent, address tissue laxity in the flanks and mid-back, but if this is the main area of concern it may be that you would benefit more from a belt lipectomy, with the scar hidden on the back in the bra line. I would recommend visiting a plastic surgeon who specialises in body surgery and seek their opinion.

Thank you for your question; Yes indeed the abdominoplasty or tummy tuck addresses the skin in front of the abdomen the lower body lift in the other hand will address skin in the lower part of the body including thighs and also the flanks and lower back.

The lower body lift elevates the loose skin of the buttock and lateral thigh and does nothing for the mid back or upper flank skin. The correct lift for the mid back and upper flank skin is the bra line lift. This can be very effective and hide the scar in the bra line. Discuss this with a surgeon who does major lifts and they can explain in detail. Good luck.

Many thanks for your query.The posterior aspect of lower trunk surgery pulls up the droopy buttocks. It does not pull down the back tissue.There are skilled surgeons locally - do your research and you will find them.Best of luckMark

Without a photo it’s hard to assess you properly although I completely understand why you haven’t posted one. Simply speaking, a body lift takes the sagging tissue of the lower back and buttocks and lifts it up. The amount of mid back skin that can be tightened is dependent on where the scar sits. A higher scar allows more back redundancy to be removed. When the scar is very high, this is called a belt lipectomy. For ladies it is common to site the scar just above the buttocks. This will certainly remove some skin although, in my experience too much Undermining of the back leads to wound  healing problems.
