QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Would I be able to have a tummy tuck and have good results? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thanks for your query. The opinion you had was correct in stating that a standard abdominoplasty is not possible.
It is certainly still possible to make an improvement for you though.
Options may include - reverse abdominoplasty, FDL, central abdominoplasty.
It is not possible to advise you which is best without an in person examination.

180cc smooth round gel implant, is this the highest cc I could potentially have? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thanks for your query. You are petite. Your chest skin is tight. Your PS wants to improve your chest appearance safely for you.
Placing too large an implant is a POOR DECISION. Your risks go up - losing the implant because of exposure/infection is a disaster.
Breast augmentation needs to balance your wishes with what your body will allow. Small is the only option that is safe for you. Don’t push your PS to do something he feels uncomfortable with as this will end badly for all. If after your BBA you feel you are too small, it is safer to later go a bit larger.

Am I a good candidate for tummy tuck and lipo? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Many thanks for your query. From the picture, you will certainly benefit from a tummy tuck.

It is however not possible to predict your likely outcome until you are lighter and weight stable for at least 3 months.

Once you have reached your weight goal, consult with an expert in body contouring.

Would I be a candidate in your opinion for just reduction or uplift with small implant for a smaller perkier boob? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

The surgeon you saw gave you sensible advice. The fact that you are disappointed with this highlights your unrealistic expectations.

Safety is the priority with any surgery. Cessation of smoking ( and all nicotine ) for at least six weeks is a pre-requisite to any surgery.

A reduction/lift initially, followed by a period where you see how you feel about your new breast shape, possibly followed by a small implant 6 months later to improve upper pole fullness if needed is a SAFE way forward.

Extended abdominoplasty or FDL? With or without lipo? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Many thanks for your query. Congratulations on the weight loss.

The main issue here is ‘I may need a stoma in the future’. You need to first clarify with your surgeon what is happening here. You should NOT have any abdominal body contouring until this is sorted.

Having said that, the pictures you have posted do not show enough for any surgeon to advise you. The critical mons area and buttocks region is hidden by underwear. In weight loss the Mons and buttocks needs to be addressed with lower trunk surgery.

The comparison of FDL vs extended abdominoplasty doesn’t make sense either. Clearly when the time is right you will need to consult with an expert who can clearly explain the options. A FDL can be done at the same time as extended/270degree/belt abdominoplasty. With the central abdominal laxity and poor quality skin you will need the vertical excision from FDL as a part of your abdominal rejuvenation.

First find out about the stoma, then find a Plastic surgeon who can give you good advice.

Would it be possible to have an arm lift, thigh lift, and a nose job all at once?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Dear Nicki,

This is too much for one op. Without at least photos I cannot even advise whether each area that you are concerned with is deserving of surgery. I suggest that you carefully balance benefits vs risks - no operation is without risks, and by posing such a query to this forum, I think that you do not have the full story of the downsides of the surgery.
Do your research well. Consult with an expert and listen carefully to the advice given.
Cosmetic surgery is not at all like choosing an article of clothing from a shop.
Best wishes

Neck lift or neck lipo for getting rid of submental fat? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Dear Linda - thanks for including pics with this.
You would benefit from the lipo rather than a neck lift as you have no excess skin, with some excess fat under your chin.
It is difficult to comment on your cheeks without an in person examination.

Neck lift or neck lipo? What is the best way to get rid of the submental fat?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Dear Linda,

Many thanks for your query. I agree with the initial response - it is not possible to give personalised advice without at least seeing photos.
Both lipo and a neck lift can improve the neck. The lipo removes fat and the lift removes saggy skin and tightens structures.
An in person examination is ideal.

Is this the best I can expect? Should I look into CO2 laser for skin improvement? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thanks for your query. There are many pieces of this puzzle missing - your age and your pre-op pictures would be helpful.
The pictures you have posted however show no scars from the surgery and a normal appearing neck. Clearly you are slim too which reveals all the underlying anatomical features. It does appear as if you were expecting too much. I agree with your surgeon - perhaps try something for the skin now.

Is my belly button an innie or an outie? Can skin be removed from it? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It is certainly possible to remove some of the excess skin. The balance of course is that removing skin will leave a scar which might make the appearance worse - scar healing takes 12-18 months, so if you do go ahead be patient during the recovery period.

I Cannot Recommend Mr. Soldin Highly Enough

I cannot recommend Mr. Soldin highly enough. He is not only an exceptionally skilled surgeon but also a truly kind, professional, and warm individual. After significant weight loss, I had resigned myself to living with sagging skin, believing there was no option for me. However, Mr. Soldin changed that. He took the time to guide me through the process, handled the application for NHS funding with care and responsibility, and performed an extended abdominoplasty that has truly transformed my life. The incision was incredibly neat, healed beautifully, and the results exceeded anything I could have imagined. As an NHS patient, I also received outstanding aftercare at St. George’s Hospital, which further reflects the high standard of care he upholds. Mr. Soldin is a unique individual, dedicated to his patients' well-being, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been under his care. I couldn’t be happier with the results—thank you for giving me a confidence I never thought I’d have again!

Breast Augmentation

Fantastic surgeon - restored to my original C/D size

I underwent a breast augmentation because my breasts had lost volume and dropped 3 bra sizes post breastfeeding my 3 children. After surgery I was restored to my original c/d size and feel so confident. I cannot recommend Mr Soldin enough. He is a very kind man and fantastic surgeon. I actually had two surgeries because one of my breasts dropped so went in to have the muscles tightened but this was done without any problems and to no extra cost to myself. He took alot of time to explain the risks to me and the aftercare was excellent.

The procedure went as planned unfortunately I experienced a partial facial paralysis on my forehead

I chose to undergo this procedure after considerable time and in consultation with my surgeon Mr Mark Soldin. The procedure went as planned unfortunately I experienced a partial facial paralysis on my forehead and was initially quite depressed and anxious regarding the long-term outcome, however I was completely put at ease by Mark who went out of his way to guide me through this difficult time and I fully recovered within three months. I felt he was there for me and supported my recovery at every stage. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I Felt Safe & That I Was in Good Hands

Mark was brilliant and I felt that he was there for me at any time should I have needed him during my recovery. The surgery went well and I was in safe hands. I am very pleased with the results and would highly recommend Mark to anybody considering cosmetic surgery.

I Had a Life Changing Experience.

Couldn't be happier with my operation. He has done an amazing job and I feel like a new woman. Although realistically, I went through a lot pain and and inconveniences to get there!. It took weeks for the external wounds to heal and some parts got infected, so I had to be seen by nurses for 5 weeks after the op. 12 weeks on and my stomach still feels numb & I cannot lift heavy staff. Somehow this operation has even helped with my existing hernia. So it has not been a bed of roses, but well worth it.

Skin Cancer Basal Cell Carcinoma

I had a mole removed from my neck 10 years ago that left me a small scar. Around 2 years ago I decided to remove that scar with laser treatment. I had 3 session and last one left me with small wound that never healed. After a year of trying different creams I was referred to Kingston hospital where I had a biopsy done and was diagnosed with non-aggressive type of skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma. Unfortunately after I had CT scan I was informed that it was large and deeply penetrating infiltrative basal cell carcinoma that was growing in my neck for many years and will have to have it removed surgically. I was very lucky my surgery was performed by Mr. Mark Soldin, an amazing surgeon who probably saved my life. The cancer was very deeply grown into my neck and very close to important veins and muscles but fortunately the wound was small enough just to close it with skin graft. Was also advised postoperative radiotherapy. I was extremely lucky to be referred to Mr Soldin who's knowledge and amazing professional and caring approach made this horrifying experience best possible. I also want to thank his great team who took care of me while in hospital which I was able to leave next day after surgery. I would never think that a mole I had removed many years ago would cause a skin cancer growing under scar for many years.

Breast Reduction

Badger1994

Great surgeon despite post-op complications

Had bi-lateral breast reduction in January 2019. Dr Soldin outlined all the potential complications pre-surgery so I felt fairly prepared for all eventualities. I had post-op complications which led to around 4 month healing time (rather than 6-8 weeks). The complications included fat necrosis and wounds not healing on the right breast leading to necrosis and bad scarring on one side. Dr Soldin was highly professional, clearly an expert. I went through the NHS, not privately and I would say that I would have liked more touch points with the surgeon post-operatively, as the complications took a physical and mental toll, including anxiety and pain. However, I understand that this is the nature of managing the time of doctors within the NHS. I am happy with the results on the left breast, but the results have increased scarring on the right for which I am due for a secondary ’nip tuck’ operation to improve. Although the outcome of the operation isn't quite as I would like, I would still give Dr Soldin 5 stars, as I don't believe the complications were linked to his prowess as a surgeon (50% chance of complications with this operation). In addition to this, the complications are purely cosmetic and I have achieved the outcome of improved standard of living. In all, I am happy with the results despite the complications, as I was aware of the risk I was undertaking. Thanks to Dr Soldin and team.

270 degree TT and Arm Lift

After losing 10 stone in weight I was referred to Mark on the NHS. My expectations were not very high and I arrived expecting an outright rejection. He was VERY thorough during the consultation and even though I found the process very distressing it got better when I realised he wasn't looking with disgust but a professional eye and a solution to my problems. After that initial consultation he applied for funding and stated the ball rolling - again I expected another rejection. I was over the moon and overwhelmed at my next appointment to discover that I had actually been accepted. This appointment and with the markings of what was going to be removed. This was agonising as by this point I was so ashamed of my body. Again my fears were eased with Marks professionalism. On the day of my surgery my nerves were sky high, that was until Mark and in and showed me his sheer excitement at what he was about to embark on. That made me for the first time actually be excited about what I was about to do. On waking up I was uncomfortable but not in pain, I looked so slim that took over. I had two drains in my tummy and one in each of my arms, they were hell. After 24 hours they were out so no to bad looking back! Pre op Mark told me to get up and shower as soon as I could. The morning after I got up, took the bandages off and walked to the shower (like a woman in her 90's). Where I proceeded to throw up and faint! Luckily my partner was with me, I have to admit after a shower I felt a million times better! I left hospital that afternoon, exactly 24 hours after coming out of surgery. Recovery at home was fine, my TT hurt more than I expected (I've had a c section and it was a lot worse). It took about 4 weeks for the stretching burning pain to subside. But the scars are FANTASTIC. The arms, well they were a whole new ball game, the stitches opened in places but due to the advice given pre op I used hibiscrub to wash in and continued to shower and redress every day so never picked up an infection. They did heal eventually (the good old Greek sea done they the world of good). The scars are much redder and wider than I thought they would be but again I am over the moon compared to the disgusting loose skin that swung. If I can give one tip to anyone it's "manage your expectations". I look fantastic but I don't look perfect, I don't have the skin of a 21 year old. Mark has changed my life, he has given me something I've never had (been over weight all my life). Anyone considering using him as their surgeon will not be disappointed
