Does anyone know if it is OK to have laser hair removal prior to surgery?

As long as the laser hair removal is not within the area of any proposed surgical incision, it should probably be fine. Your surgeon should be able to give you exact advice on this. Overall, the risk of complication should be relatively low.

We recommend shaving prior to laser hair removal.  Although this is a bit of a stretch, sometimes shaving can lead to folliculitis (small micro infections) which can potentially be an issue if an incision is made in the same spot.  Of course any rare complications such as burns may pose a problem as well.    Best of luck. Presumably the laser hair removal is in the bikini area?  Laser hair removal usually does not produce a wound.  I see no contraindication to doing laser hair removal prior to a tummy tuck.  Both procedures are elective, however, why not postpone the laser hair removal?

hi! thanks for the question. i recommend not to, the skin is going to be sensible and sometimes it peels and that has a lot ofbacterias.do your surgery, recover and a month after depending on how its going after surgery you can start again.good luck1

If the hair to be removed is near the surgery,safest to do it another time and not stir up bacteria or risk of the chance of small local burn or peel.Same goes for waxing or blade shave.Mechanical shaving by your doctor probably safest way to minimize wound infection

there is no reason that having laser hair removal should increase your complications risk from a TT.good luck.
