8 months post op, I have burning and pulling sensation. Any suggestions?

Hi Doctors, I am almost 8 months PO. TT w/mr and lipo. In the last two weeks or so when i wake up in the morning Ive been having a burning pulling sensation on the inside at my tt incision site. but its only on the right side. I havent had any complications or problems after sx. It feels like my skin is dry so i put coco butter to soothe the pulling feeling. This usually resolves the discomfort because it isnt painful. can you tell me what could be causing this. Thanks

The sensations you're feeling can be anything from scar tissue, nerve pain, suture material etc. It is very difficult to give and assessments without examining you. I would recommend massaging in the area. Be in touch with your surgeon if you continue to experience or are concerned.It is imperative that you seek the advice of a plastic
surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has
extensive experience in tummy tuck/abdominoplasty.

It could be any number of things. Without an in person exam, impossible to say. However it does sound as if it will resolve on its own. If not, schedule an appointment to see your surgeon. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Its best to arrange a review with your plastic surgeon to determine the cause of your concern.  A number of factors may cause discomfort at this stage including  scar tissue. The fact that it resolves after rubbing cream on seems to indicate that the problem will resolve on its on but you should arrange a review if you are concerned.

It may be scar tissue under the scar causing the burning/pulling sensation or the scar itself. If your surgeon has examined you and there is nothing glaring, try Vitamin E on the scar. Massage it like you would flattening hard putty 15 minutes a day. Also try some stretching to help rearrange and break and scar bands. Hope this helps! Best of luck. Dr. Michael Omidi

Could be the loose end of a suture that is bothering you.   Could be a nerve entrapment that will resolve with time.   Could be a separation in the abdominal muscle that separated  and was  never repaired.    There were three ;likely candidate.   There are more.
