What options do I have for Scar Removal Post Tummy Tuck? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
First off you need patience these scars will take at least a year to plateau. Some lasers can help the red color but not likely to speed up the process much.In the interim, most plastic surgeons would recommend vigorous scar massage and moisturization +/- scar creams eg mederma  3X a day,and silicone scar sheeting for at least half the day.If in the end still not satisfied, can talk to your doctor about whether revision/lowering the scar is technically feasible

I am wondering cost, downtime and if it is with it for my concerns. (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
From the photos, which limits the accuracy of our opinions, you don't seem to have enough loose skin to make a thigh lift worthwhile and scars can be unacceptable to many with your contour. With your type of work also, with thigh lift and/or abdominoplasty may take 4-6 weeks to back to work

Do I need a lift if I want saline implants? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Person to person always best, but from photos alone you look like you need a lift plus implants regardless of what kind. You appear to have a large, inelastic skin envelope that could accomodate a large implant if you wished but they would be large and saggy without a mastopexy.
P.S. a  coordinator is not a substitute for an opinion with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon

Liposuction technique for love handles?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Most any liposuction technique will improve love handles. The final result is more depend on your skin tone and elasticity(ie its ability to redrape after the fat is removed) rather than the muscle tone below.

Can fluid from Liposuction not be removed because its in the tissue?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Most swelling postop is "in the tissues" ie can't be removed but improve over time and with compression garments and massage techniques. If the fluid on the otherhand is a hematome or seroma then it can be drained or aspirated or if very bad corrected surgically

How do you continue to make sure your breasts are okay even years after breast augmentation?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Several things can be done to monitor breast health after BAM.Self exam, regular exam by your physicians, age appropriate mammograms and many physicians & the FDA consider breast MRI if any question of leak or rupture and every so often for new, first time silicone implant patients even if asymptomatic

I'm considering Botox, but I worry about dangerous/future side effects. Have any renowned doctors had Botox themselves?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
An excellent question for any cosmetic procedure to ask your doctor:"would you or a member of your family have this procedure done?"I strongly recommend botox when properly performed and by a skilled, board certified plastic surgeon or derm.I have not had it myself but inject it frequently without hesitation to family members and friends

Does lower bleph always cause hollow eyes?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Obviously most patients don't get hollow eyes after a lower bleph, otherwise the procedure wouldn't be so popular. However it is one of the postop possibilities especially if too much fat is removed, also depends on your age, preop eyelid structure and contours and sometimes medical illnesses

I am having a hard time obtaining pain medication for surgery In the Dominican Republic. Why?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Doctors who are not treating patients for a specific surgery are appropriately cautious about prescribing narcotics because of our national crisis of drug abuse ,much of which starts from prescription meds. Also especially if surgery is being done outside the states doctors are weary about patients potentially "double dipping" ie getting narcotic prescriptions from several providers.

Does breast really fill in after a lumpectomy? And how long will it take?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
The answer to your question is difficult at this early stage. The final result depends on a number of things:how much tissue had to be removed, the size and contour of your preop breast, the surgical repair and how you heal and scar as an individual.Your doctors can give you postop pointers as healing progresses,if after all is healed and it doesn't "fill in" to your satisfaction there are a number of plastic surgery options which can help at that time.

24 Post Gastric Bypass - Boston, MA

Hey. So I got my procedure done yesterday. So far all is going well. I know everyone might say that it is too early to tell, but I feel great. The dr. And his staff were amazing. I am in a bit of pain now that the tumescent fluid is draining out. And I am draining quite a bit. But over all is am super happy ?? Updated on 8 Aug 2015: Today marks my fifth day since my procedure. I am a bit sore, swelling and bruising, but they aren't that bad. I have been reading that it's too early to judge, however I can definitely see an hour glass figure starting to develop. I am super happy worth every penny. I was wondering, is there room for more improvement , or is this it? Since I have shown such drastic results this fast?

Best Decision Ever. - Cambridge, MA

I am 51 years old, 5'9" and just over 200 lbs but losing like crazy on Weight Watchers! I went through new 42G bras every month. My back, neck and shoulders were always in pain. Thanks to my surgeon, his staff and BCBS of Massachusetts, I am now living in comfort & feel beautiful. I'll post sone early post op pictures soon! Updated on 13 Apr 2012: I officially hit week four yesterday. Doing OK, but the underside incisions are staring to bother me. I can't put anything on them (Mederma, Vit E, BioOil) or they get very irritated and sore. Just going to have to fade naturally I guess! I am going to try to post more of my progress photos tonight. Weight Watchers is going great too! I've lost 32 lbs since 2/29. Feeling like a new woman for sure!!!! A few people asked me why the $2k Cost for the procedure.....I opted for lipo under my arms as well. I didn't want to end up with breasts with wings!!! :) Updated on 13 Apr 2012: Not sure why my photos are posting upside down! Sorry!!! :-) Updated on 15 Apr 2012: I've added some Week 4 photos to my album. The irritation from the oils is almost all gone now and the girls are starting to soften up and fill out, although not at the same time! The left breast seems to be ahead of the right! :/ A small unpleasant and painful bruise on the left nipple is also starting to fade. Updated on 19 Apr 2012: I don't even want to post my week 5 photos. I am so discouraged. My right breast looks like a deflating balloon. The left is fine. Sigh. I'm lopsided. Updated on 22 Apr 2012: Feeling so much better today and almost pain free. :)

Smart Lipo on Arms - West Hartford, CT

I am a 23 year old female that has struggled with my weight my entire life. Since January of this year I have been working one on one with a personal trainer four times a weeks along with going to the gym on my own. Although I have lost 25lbs I still weigh in at 175lbs. With my 5'6 stature I am still pretty chunky everywhere! My arms have always bothered me, I always shied away from tank tops, halter tops, and always wear a sweater no matter how warm it is outside. It took me about a month to decide that I was going to go ahead with the procedure, which I had yesterday! I have had very minimal pain, it feels like I just had a real intense work out with weights! So far I am extremely happy with the results although I am still very swollen. The doctor told me that my skin was shrinking very nicely during the procedure which gives me very high hopes for my future results! I go back in two days to the doctor. I will keep you posted!Updated on 16 May 2011:It has been 5 days since my surgery and I have worn the compression garments 24/7 since I had my surgery (besides washing them once). I am not really seeing any results yet which really have me upset. I know thinking that I will have skinny arms right away wouldnt happen but I would really like to see some sort of change! My arms are very yellow with bruising. My audits are healing pretty well, all the audits except one look really goo and small. However, one shows bleeding under the skin and is more rectangular in shape rather than circular.... it looks like the the skin was ripped during the procedure. I went to the doctors on Saturday but they were basically just looking for infections and not the shrinking of skin.... I just need to know that the skin will shrink. I am totally freaking out.
