Am I good candidate for mini tummy tuck? (Photos)

Question

I do not have Diastasis Recti. I have had two children. Age 29. 5'6"or 164cm and weigh 76kgs or 167lbs.I plan to drop about 10kgs or 33pounds. My ab muscles are fully intact. Just lose skin from stretching skin during pregnancy. Or is it best to wait until I lose the weight before a judgement either way can be made.

Thank you for your question and sharing your photo. I think you would be a better candidate for full Tummy Tuck. You may be a good candidate for abdominoplasty if you have one or more of the following conditions:

You might want to consider waiting on any surgery if you have plans on loosing more  weight, when you reach your goal, I would recommend a full tummy tuck and liposuction of you sides and back for a nice hourglass shape, consult carefully with a board certified PS good luck!

From your photos, you appear to be an excellent candidate for a full tummy tuck with Vaser Hi definition liposculpture to your hips and back.  You should get a great result from liposculpture, giving you a more contoured and hourglass shape with better projection to your buttocks.

Hi fatandfrumpy.  Thanks for sharing pics.  You will get the best estimate of which surgery to proceed with once you are at a stable, ideal weight.  A full tuck will provide you with improvements above and below your belly button and give you maximum shaping.  You may be a candidate for liposuction to reduce any excess subcutaneous (under the skin) fat in the flanks, waist and hips as well.  A dynamic assessment of the abdominal wall muscles (instead of a static photo) is essential to seeing whether a full tuck is necessary since diastasis recti is not the only indication for tightening.  Of course, choose a Board Certified PS for your consultation so that you can explore these issues in depth.  Best wishes,

The main difference between a mini and a full tummy tuck is that the mini does not improve loose skin in the upper abdomen. Muscle repair and liposuction or other method of fat contouring can be done with either technique. It is not possible to tell from the photos.

You appear to be an excellent candidate for a full tummy tuck. The abdominal skin excision could give you an excellent contour as well as improve the tone of the anterior abdominal wall. Liposuction could be performed to improve the contour of your flanks and hips at the time of tummy tuck surgery. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon for an in-person examination to discuss the specific details of the procedures.
