I got a primary rhinoplasty done 3.5 months ago. My dorsal hump was resected and used as a columnar strut. There is still some swelling in the supratip region. Is my nose tip rotated too upwards? I’m worried that it looks unnatural and looks obvious that I had surgery. Doctor told me that the tip might drop 1-2mm in the first month, but till now it hasn’t dropped. I have thick oily skin, will the tip drop gradually with time? Also, how long after surgery can I get filler in the tip region?

Answer: Tip drop after rhinoplasty after surgery the tip can counter-rotate for up to 6-9 months following surgery. However, the likelihood depends on what was done. If a tongue in groove or septal extension graft was used, then it is unlikely any change will occur. I would wait a few more months. Currently your rotation is borderline, not egregious and you only need a few degrees to be happy I think.

Answer: Is my nose tip too high after rhinoplasty? 3.5 months post-op As you know, it is too early to be worried about your final results. Although your tip is likely to "drop" after rhinoplasty, if you had a strut placed, it is less likely to drop significantly. I think at this point you need to wait for your nose to take shape, for the early swelling to settle and the tissues to soften. You are likely to get a little de-rotation. You can truly assess the results at 1 year and then decide on how to proceed.
