I recently underwent a deep plane facelift with Dr.Ercan K,, and I couldn't be happier with the results! From the very beginning, my experience was exceptional. The consultation process was thorough and informative, allowing me to understand what to expect and addressing all my concerns.

The surgical team was highly professional, ensuring that I felt comfortable and safe throughout the procedure. I traveled from the United States for a mons reduction, thigh lift, and arm lift. The communication was clear throughout the process, the hospital was clean and accommodating, and my surgery was a success.

I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Ercan, Eray, Ezgi, Nurse Seda, Nurse Cansu, and all the staff at Memorial Hospital for ensuring my aesthetic “journey” was smooth, organized, comfortable, worry-free, cost effective, very medically safe, and just an exceptional experience. Of course, I also love my results, far more than I was expecting, which at 60 yrs old, is a great feeling. Dr. Ercan is not only a master in technique but also in facial balancing.

A bit more detail for those interested:
My first procedure was in February of this year, where I had a full facelift, necklift, fat transfer, eyebrow lift, and chin bone reduction. It sounds like a lot, but the results are so natural that I look so much better…but still me. The surgical scars were always easy to cover, and after about 4 months, the scars completely disappeared. What also amazed me was, from a patient perspective, the whole “journey” was exceptional, every detail… Staff, hospital, hotel, procedure, location, ease of communication, patient comfort. The best medical experience I’ve had (I live in California)..

Now onto my second procedure (s):
This time my procedure was in September. I am now 4 weeks post. I’m still recovering but doing great. Main purpose was for rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and nostril repair. One side of my nostril was completely collapsed, and my septum was very deviated. In otherwords, my nose was a mess. Dr. Ercan completely rebuilt my nose. I have such a great nose now that fits my face perfectly.
In addition to the nose surgery, I had an abdominoplasty. This was my second time for a tummy tuck. I had one 25 years ago (in the US). I was never pleased with the results. I still had an abdominal “pooch”, and the surgical scarring was terrible…but, I lived with it until now. Dr. Ercan completely fixed it, beyond what I thought was possible. My tummy is now flat, and I have one very thin line on my abdomen (and this is just week #4).
On a side note, he also performed hand rejuvenation, which I would recommend for anyone whose back of hands needs more volume.

I realize this is quite a wordy review..so I will finish by saying that I looked into surgeons in Turkiye because US prices are cost prohibitive for me. With saying that, now that I’ve been to Dr. Ercan in Istanbul, even if I won the U.S. lottery and budget was not an issue, I would still go this route. After a long surgery, there is immense comfort in waking up in a private room in a full facility, multi purpose, hospital, with a nurse by my side and with Dr. Ercan continuously checking up on me throughout my stay. For three nights, I get to rest in the very nice hospital room as the nurses constantly take and record my vitals, make sure I get my medicines, take me for hallway walks, make sure I get my food and liquids, etc. After the third day, when I’m feeling more rested from the surgery, it’s a 2 minute easy walk to a lovely hotel where almost all the customers have had, or are about to have cosmetic surgery, so no one took notice when I went down to the delicious breakfast buffet with my surgical bandages on my face. By day 5, when I’m up and about, walking around and touring Istanbul, going to local cafe’s, eating at restaurants, etc, no one made any comments nor cared about my bandaged face. So, by the time I left Istanbul 2 weeks later, not only was I starting to look more refreshed, I also had a lot of fun.

My “journey” all began with one quick text to Dr. Ercan’s office back in 2023. I am so glad I sent it.

My Explant Journey with Dr. Ercan Karacaoglu – A Life-Changing Experience

After years of struggling with a botched breast augmentation in 2018, I finally decided to have an explant surgery on August 13th, 2024. My original surgery left me with 375cc implants, oversized F-cup breasts, and severe complications, including constant neck and back pain due to the huge unwanted breasts. I had asked for a C-cup but ended up with a result that not only affected my body but also my confidence. For years, I felt helpless, unable to trust another doctor after that traumatic experience.

I started researching explant procedures, finally I found Dr. Ercan Karacaoglu in Istanbul, Turkey. Living in the UK but being from Istanbul, this felt like the perfect opportunity for me.

On the day of the surgery, I felt nervous but hopeful. Dr. Karacaoglu’s kindness and professionalism immediately put me at ease. He listened to my concerns and worries which was incredibly important to me. His team was also fantastic, always responsive and caring throughout the entire process.

After the surgery, which included an explant with capsule removal, a lift, and areola reduction, I felt an immediate sense of relief. I couldn’t believe how much better I felt even on the first day post-op—I didn’t even need my usual morning coffee! I realised then that I had been dealing with brain fog for years, something I hadn’t fully understood until it lifted after the surgery.

I finally felt free, like a weight had been lifted from my body. My breathing improved, the pain in my neck and back was gone, and I began to feel more like myself.

Three Weeks Post-Op Update: September 4th, 2024
Now, three weeks post-surgery, I can confidently say that choosing Dr. Karacaoglu was the best decision I’ve ever made. The transformation is incredible. The swelling has gone down significantly, and my body feels lighter and healthier. My appearance is drastically different. My saggy F-cups have been beautifully reduced to perky, small C-cups, and I couldn’t be happier.

Even with a simple T-shirt I look and feel amazing. My friends and family have commented on how much healthier and skinnier I appear, and I can finally breathe without discomfort. The difference between my pre- and post-op pictures is almost unbelievable.

I developed a small seroma under my breasts, likely due to overexertion. But Dr. Karacaoglu was always there for me, never turned me down If I request to see him. His care has been nothing short of amazing, and I’m so grateful for his support.

This journey has been life-changing. Thank you, Dr. Karacaoglu, for giving me my life back. You will be forever my hero!

I was quite apprehensive about the treatment as with all doctors, you see a mix of positive and negative reviews. However, every interaction with this doctor was lovely and very comforting.

Before booking anything I was able to have a video call with him to ask any questions I had and follow up calls offered if I wanted them. They had a cancellations so managed to fit me in quite quickly- I only had to wait 3 weeks for my surgery.The consultant I was messaging was very friendly and happy to answer all my questions.

When I arrived, it was nice being picked up from the airport and taken straight to the hotel which was roughly a 2mins walk from the hospital, so very convenient. I’d seen bad reviews of this hotel previously but it was perfectly fine. I had my in person consultation the next day where I spoke to the doctor and asked any additional questions I had. Plus, some blood tests.
The next day was my surgery. I was put in the VIP suite which was very nice and spacious. Before the surgery, the doctor came and spoke to me a few times to check on me, get forms signed and mark out lines on me. After the surgery, the doctors came back a few times to check on me and see how I was, along with the nurses frequently checking on me and providing me with medication. He said he had tried a couple different sizes on me and chose the one which looked best. I stayed over night which was very needed. The moveable beds were very comfortable.
The next day I was sent back to the hotel and told to rest. I was given different medications to regularly take over the next week. I had drains in also, so each morning, had to send pictures of how much blood was in them to the doctor. Just before leaving, I met with the doctor again to remove the drains and check on the surgery.

Altogether, I am very happy with the service, the doctor and the outcome.

Superhero jawline..excellent facial balancing.. Thank you so much. The battle to rebuild my face after decades of combat sports is being achieved. I noticed my chin receding and It bothered me. The doctor said its an easy fix and he delivered.

Safety, Results, Budget, Communication, Comfort, and, ability to do this on my own without a companion. These were the criteria I required to be able to move forward. Dr. Ercan and his team exceeded every one of these priorities /criteria!
A little about me: I am 60 years old, female, and live in the north Los Angeles area. I had been researching plastic surgeons for about two years…but was never able to find one that met all my criteria -that is until Dr. Ercan’s profile showed up. I sent photos asking for a review by Dr. Ercan as to the procedures he would recommend. I quickly received feedback and from that point onwards the process was easy. It has now been about two months since my facelift /necklift/eyebrow lift/fat transfer, and chin bone reduction by Dr. Ercan. I am extremely happy.
With regards to my priorities/criteria:
1. SAFETY - I felt very safe throughout my stay in Turkiye and throughout my procedure. I was incredibly nervous before hand, yet I didn’t need to be. Everything was taken care of, and I felt very safe throughout.
2. RESULTS - What a difference. It has been a little over two months, and I am amazed at how natural, and yet so much better, I look and feel. In reality, the facelift /necklift looked great even after just two weeks (bone reduction is a longer healing process). Before the procedure, Dr. Ercan and I spent a lot of time in the mirror discussing where to raise the eyebrows, how much to reduce the chin, where to include the fat transfer, etc…I asked him to be conservative, and that is exactly what he did.
3. BUDGET - I would just say that if you have been saving up for a facelift in the U.S., most likely you have saved enough to proceed with Dr. Ercan. Even with the flight, hotel, hospital stay, etc..this cost was much more feasible than in the U.S. It would be a very interesting case study to understand why state of the art medical procedures are much more affordable in Turkiye than in the U.S. - but that is obviously beyond the scope of this review.
4. COMMUNICATION - With my very first contact with Dr. Ercan’s office up though today, the communication is very streamlined. All communication with Dr. Ercan and the patient coordinator, Eray, is very, thorough, clear, organized, and personable. I had TONS of questions…and they very kindly answered all of my questions, thoroughly, quickly, and kindly.
5. COMFORT - I was much more comfortable throughout my stay than I ever could have imagined. The first night after the surgery ( 6 hr surgery) I even had a wonderful night nurse, Nurse Cansu, who never left my side. The hospital room was very comfortable, kept spotless, and I was very well taken care of throughout my stay. Dr. Ercan’s nurse, Nurse Ceren is wonderful -very knowledgeable, energetic, and kind. All the hospital nurses were excellent and would show up in my room within one or two minutes when I pressed my call button. Even the hospital food was delicious and plentiful. The hotel I stayed at, Asia City hotel, was perfect for my procedure. The hotel is an easy 1 minute walk from the hospital, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Many of the customers staying at this hotel were there for plastic surgery, so many people were walking around with bandages around their face.
6. ABILITY to do this without a companion - I did not have anyone who I could ask to be with me during this process. I was on my own. Fortunately, Dr. Ercan’s office is set up for this exact situation, making it a non-concern if you are on your own. They have the process and the staff to ensure that you will be well taken care of throughout the stay. From the moment I first landed at the airport to my last day in Turkiye, I was taken care of.
I will add that I was amazed at how quickly I felt fine. Within 4 to 5 days after my surgery, I was walking around the neighborhood and going shopping. After about one week, I was touring Istanbul and felt completely normal.
If anyone asked my advice, I would just say if you are seriously considering plastic surgery, just reach out to Dr. Ercan and everything will be easy and straight forward from that point onwards.

Let me tell you that symmastia complication is the hardest one to fix. It's the uniboob that not only looks bad but it's painful.
I got two BAs with another surgeon in Istanbul and both left me with symmastia, he ghosted me and stopped responding to me after the second surgery. I won't lie the entire process was traumatizing! Depressing!
I did extensive research and found
Dr. Ercan, he is such a wonderful person, he was so patient and calm. We had 2 video consultations prior and one in person when I landed in Istanbul (I travelled from LA). We had a plan of 3 possible options that he would decide on once we went into surgery. Although I didn't want to downsize much as agreed he prioritized fixing symmastia and replaced the implants with appropriate size and built new pockets to separate my breasts.
I won't lie, the recovery was tough, with limited arm movement and not lifting anything. Although, I also got small amount of lipo so that on me for creating more pain:)

His staff was incredible, Ceren is an absolute gem, she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable when I was at my lowest physically and mentally.

THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART-
My results straight from the surgery didn't look good, one breast was ever uneven (he had to build new pockets and there was a lot of pulled skin) I was devastated. I stayed in contact with Dr. Ercan directly through WhatsApp. We had check in video calls and messages throughout the healing process. HE STAYED CALM and didn't ghost me unlike the other surgeon. He said it will take time to heal and to stay patient, it's hard but trust him and trust the healing process.

It's been 6 months now and everything healed beautifully. Here is a photo of symmastia where my skin is lifted off chest-bone about 2cm and my breast are stuck together, recovery, and the after result. I had 375cc HP and went to 325cc HP

Dr. Ercan explains everything and talks with you at length about what to expect. He is caring and kind and an excellent surgeon. He checked on me morning and night during my hospitalization. I am so happy with my results!
