There is no ideal BMI or weight for your height. Your general health, genetics, exercise habits, dietary capabilities, and other factors are to be considered. The results from the BBL will depend upon where your fat is distributed and your goals for redistribution. Losing 10 to 15 pounds and maintaining that weight for six months prior to surgery would enhance results. Consult in person or via Skype with a board certified PS who performs hundreds of BBLs each year and has great reviews and great before and after pictures on his/her website.
Great question! As a general guideline, patients with a BMI of 30 or less have decreased risks of surgical complications and issues. But this is just a guideline, there are other variables that determine safety. You can discuss this with your plastic surgeon in detail during your consultation and they will be able to guide you to your ultimate goals.Best of luck and hope this information helps!- Dr. Roger Tsai @DrRogerTsaiBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
Dear Nany1977,generally speaking, you want to reach and maintain your goal weight before you consider a BBL surgery, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD
Thanks for your question. You should be a good candidate for a BBL at this point althoug losing 10-20 lbs before surgery would help you achieve better results. That said, you definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Best is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can get is from consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Your weight and height will determine yourbody mass index (BMI). Ideally, you would like your BMI to be less than30, however, this decision is individualized based on your overall healthstatus and what procedure you are having among others. The closer you are toyour ideal body weight, the better the results of the surgery and the lesslikelihood of perioperative complications. Your current BMI is 32. So, I would say if you drop your weight by 20-30 pounds, you will have better results. Best,Pejman Aflaki, M.D.Johns Hopkins-trained plastic surgeon
Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well.In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.Good luck :)
fat distribution is far more important than height and weight. There are in reality a multitude of variables that determine if someone is a good candidate for this procedure. Skin laxity is probably the number one contributing factor to having undesirable outcomes. Personally I would not offer 360 liposuction without including the back and armpit. Not including the entire torso leaves people with an unnatural fat distribution that doesn't look natural or appropriate. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

My routine is compression garment and epifoam pads over all the suctioned areas for 3 days, then shower and replace. Use for up to three weeks. I find that there is virtually no bruising under the pads. At the edge where the pad ends there is swelling and underneath it is smooth and flat. T...
