What compression (mmHg) should a patient's compression socks be after a BBL??

I do not ask my patients to use compression socks after a BBL, what I ask my patients after the procedure is to walk every two hours per 15 minutes, I also use a SCD during the procedure which is a method of DVT prevention that improves blood flow in the legs. I do not see any problem with using compression socks, ask your board certified plastic surgeon.

every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Hello. I do not use compression socks after surgey with my paients. I only use a DVT boots while in bed afer the procedure to avoid clots formation.

Dear Lena,While compression socks are not required, there is nothing wrong with wearing them especially if you have any other issues.Generally speaking, the socks come in low medium and high compression.  The medium are usually more than adequate.  Best of luck.Dr T

there is no standard protocol for using compression stockings after a BBL. I would guess most plastic surgeons won’t even mention the use of these for postoperative care.ask your surgeon and if you don’t have one I suggest having a few in person consultationsWith board-certified plastic surgeons in your area.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
