Having done so many of each, this is more dependent upon the individual goals.  You are right that the goal to be achieved is usually different. Muscularity is actually an advantage, as the greater the muscularity of the glutes the more highly vascularized tissue there is around the fat grafts.  As long as you maintain the same amount of body fat after the surgery, the buttock will remain improved long term.   You need to consult with a board certified PS who can evaluate the fat stores available for transfer to the buttocks.

Can be done with fat or implants. It depends on your current body and how much fat you have to transfer and what your buttocks tissue integrity feels like. In general, genetically make buttocks have a firm muscular consistency that can be challenging to feminize with fat alone. Best

A healthy BMI is between 15-24; therefore, gaining more weight will not help you achieve a larger buttock. You likely already have enough fat to transfer to the buttock. That being said, it is possible to contour and define the buttock to achieve the results you are looking for. If you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. The typical male phenotype has several characteristics that are different than women. The curvature is primarily skeletal but it’s also based on fat distribution. Men tend to have more visceral fat or intra-abdominal fat. This tends to give men a masculine large abdomen with weight gain. Even though weight loss may seem counterintuitive because it makes someone a lesser candidate for a fat transfer the slimmer abdomen and waist typically works in favor for feminization. Many women who are more successful in transitioning tend to be on the slim side.Fat transfer may be an option. Each individual needs to be assessed based on their unique body, fat distribution and variables that determine how well this procedure works.Simply grafting or stacking excessive amounts of fat on a body that doesn’t have curves doesn’t always give the appearance of someone who has a curvy skeletal structure.
