Can you tell me if insurance would ever pay for a neck lift?

Insurance typically does not cover cosmetic surgeries such as a neck lift.  However, financing options are available in many plastic surgeon's offices.

You may also consider less expensive treatments, such as Kybella, which is the first and only FDA-approved injectable to improve and contour the neckline, especially due to submental fullness due to submental fat. I am sorry that you are distressed with your neck.  An improvement may be of great value to you. An improvement is of no value to your insurance company.  Psychological distress is usually expressly excluded for insurance coverage because it is so subjective.  Your insurance company is not your friend, but that is a subject for another day.  It may be worth your investment to save your money and spend your money on your neck.  If it is for you, it may be worth it to you, and frankly no one else.   If it is not worth it to you, don't do it.  The 'worth it' rating on RealSelf for facelift is 95%, and for neck lift, 94%, so for the vast majority who pay for this surgery, it is worth it.  Your choice.  

Hello-It is unlikely that insurance would pay for a neck lift, as this is considered a cosmetic procedure.  There are multiple options to treat this area- seek consultation with a qualified facial plastic surgeon for a full consultation.  Additionally based upon your question, I recommend you discuss some of your feelings regarding your neck with your primary care physician.  Sometimes depression can be a serious issue, and your primary care physician will be an excellent resource to help.  Best Wishes

Hello Drainey,There really is no indication for insurance to pay for a neck lift as it is purely a cosmetic procedure.  If it is so distressing to you, there are financing programs that are available.  I would check with the surgeon you are interested in having treat you to see if he or she accepts the financing programs.  I hope this helps and good luck.  

Unfortunately I do not know of any reason or condition that an insurance will cover a neck lift. This procedure is considered completely cosmetic and therefore not covered by insurance. You may try to see if there is a local training facility for plastic surgeons (ENT residency programs) that are able to do pro-bono procedures as part of their training program.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz
