Is very common for plastic surgeons to come up with a marketing name for their surgical procedures. It is very rare that there is anything revolutionary or unique with these fancy names for necklace and facelifts. Facial plastic surgery, facelifts, and neck lift are based on certain fundamental principles and techniques. The most important decision is to choose a surgeon that you believe is qualified and will be able to get you wonderful results in a safe manner. I would not choose a surgeon based on the name of the procedure. The only person that truly knows what a Biltmore lift is is the surgeon that is performing the procedure. In this case I cannot explain the difference between a Biltmore lift and other types of necklace surgeries because a Biltmore lift is not a defined medical term.I hope this helps
I suggest you consult a board certified facial plastic surgeonbecause the board certified credential ensures you receive the highest quality knowledge, treatment, care and skill available. It may be difficult for past, present and future patients to keep up on recent technological innovations and new procedural techniques. I am attaching a video that details one of the newest technological and procedural advancements to treat the neck.
Neck lift is the medical term for the plastic surgery procedure that reshapes the neck to give a rejuvenated look.Several practitioners use marketing names that include their practice name, their last names, a trademarked name, etc. to promote their business from the marketing stand point. Patients interested in determining what is involved in a surgical procedure that is being promoted with a marketing name rather than its medical term should call or make an appointment with that office to determine the details about the procedure.
Biltmore lift is only a marketing scheme to be able to differentiate themselves from the standard facelift when in reality they are offering the same procedure. The most important thisng is to make sure that the surgeon is board certified and that you feel confident when you consult with him/her.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz
In our practice, a neck lift involves removal of fatty deposits above and below the platysma muscle, and a platysma plasty. This procedure is performed on patient's less than 50 years of age. When patients are older than 50 and have excess and loose skin in the neck, a lower face and neck lift procedure is required. For more information and many examples of both procedures, please see the link and the video below
Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear of your experience. It is unusual in my experience for vertical bands to recur soon after a Platysmaplasty. I would see your surgeon and discuss a revision. If not satisfied see a second opinion from an experienced board certified plastic surgeon.
While your concerns are legitimate, they may be premature. Although 5 months is a long time it is a certainty that your tissue is still healing and there is some minor swelling left. This will continue to improve although slowly, and may not entirely fulfill your needs. There...
Thank you for your question, Jen36. Patients have different reactions to similar procedures. It is the nature of our bodies and our recovery. I suggest you consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon regularly so that their office remains updated on your concerns. Best wishes,
