Hi Nikki2104.  I don't think you have a wound infection, but I do think you have a minor separation of your incision edges.  This is not unusual, and should heal uneventfully.  I suggest you see your plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns. Good luck!

The redness and yellowish material that you see at the bottom of your breast lift wound which is called the T-zone is an indication that healing is not progressing normally.  Because of the tension and high pressure exerted on this area during the surgery some of the normal skin has died and needs to heal.This is very common after breast lift surgery.  However I do want you to see your plastic surgeon who can do cultures to check for an infection and treat the wound to improve healing.The gray-yellow material is simply what we call necrotic debris which is the byproducts and left over material from skin cells that have died.  Generally speaking your wound will heal faster and better if the dead tissue is scraped away until nice pink bleeding tissue can be seen.  The yellow greenish grayish tissue is preventing your normal skin cells from growing into and closing the wound.This should all be able to be improved by appropriate treatment by your plastic surgeon.
