Thank you for the question. Yes, you can do eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty together. There is some nuance to this answer, though. If your rhinoplasty involves significant work to the nasal bones, there will be bruising and swelling in the under eye region. Adding eyelid surgery to this can result in more swelling or slightly longer recovery when paired with lower eyelid surgery. Upper eyelid surgery does not result in the same issue. Hi gato4, thank you for the great question. It is very reasonable to do a rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty at the same time. You may have a bit more swelling than if you split the procedures and did one at a time however I think that the benefit you get both financially and from only having to go through one healing period outweigh the negatives of more intense post-operative swelling. This is my opinion and it is very reasonable for other surgeons to recommend differently based on his or her own personal experience.

Dear gato4: Both Rhinoplasty and upper/ lower eyelid blepharoplasty can be done safely at the same time. You may see slightly more bruising in the tear trough area by doing them together, but this is a small tradeoff. By combining procedure you have only one anesthetic and are usually more cost efficient. You may see slightly more edema in the recovery period but this will pass quickly. Hope this helps. 

Yes, a rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery can be performed together at the same time under one anesthetic. This will allow patients to have one recoveryperiod as well. Anticipate approximately 2 weeks of visible bruising and swelling after both procedures have been performed.
