I had silicone breast implants one week ago. I haven't had to much pain the past few days just swelling. Last night my kids stopped up the toilet and I had to use pressure to unclog it with a plunger. Now my breasts are sore, and my right side of my right breast is pretty firm. Could I have caused any damage?
Answer: Breast Soreness Well it looks like a small amount of bruising has occurred. This can be from the surgery itself or from your plunging. Two simple rules to post op care: if it hurts stop, if its sore slow down .. you're probably doing too much.

Answer: Light activity is fine one week post-op, but check with your surgeon if severe pain persists. At just one week after your procedure, you’re still early in your recovery. However, you should be fine to begin resuming light daily activities as long as you’re abiding by your surgeon’s post-op instructions. At this stage, soreness and some moderate pain can still be expected, and an ice pack or pain medications can usually help alleviate these symptoms. From just plunging the toilet, there shouldn’t be any reason to be concerned, but if the soreness doesn’t get better or if it worsens, let your doctor know.

Answer: Soreness Thank you for your question. It is possible you just overdid it. If there was a dramatic increase in the size of one or both breasts, then that may be concerning. I would keep an eye on it, and if there is any concern, touch base with your plastic surgeon. All the best,

Answer: Bruising and soreness after augment It is difficult to say without examining you in person. Certainly this does not look like a typical hematoma, but you described increased firmness as well. The only way to give good advice is with a physical exam, so I suggest to see your plastic surgeon to be evaluated.Best of luck!Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA
