I've noticed a small bulge in my pubic area, near the scar from my tummy tuck surgery. Options? (Photos)

Thank you for your photos. First, you should determine what is causing the bulge. If this is simply some subcutaneous fat, then under local anesthesia, a minor liposuction procedure could be done to improve your contour. Coolsculpting is an option but has the possibility of PAH, (Paroxysmal Adipose Hypertrophy) where the area treated actually gets larger, rather than smaller. Laser liposuction would likely be a more expensive option, as opposed to standard tumnescent liposuction. However, if this bump is secondary to a bulging/protrusion of the fascia in your lower abdomen, then liposuction is not going to improve this and a mini tummy tuck with repair of the fascia would be required to improve the contour of this area. It depends on what is causing the bump. It is just fat, then liposuction alone may be sufficient. If it something else, then a mini tummy tuck may be a better option.

there are several things that could cause a bulge around the area of your tummy tuck scar. Fat necrosis (fat cells die and become scar tissue due to the sutures), a hernia, excess fat for a retained seroma (fluid collection). It would definitely be important to make sure that it is not a hernia that could potentially lead to complications down the road. I would recommend being examined by the surgeon that performed your tummy and then possibly performing a diagnostic test such as an ultrasound or a CT scan.

Please don't waste your money on CoolSculpting or laser only. Liposuction may be the answer, but an exam is needed. Go in for a consultation. Congratulations on your weight loss!

If you want to move your surgery scar a bit higher, Vaserlipo and Mini Tummy Tuck can be performed on the lower abdomen. However, if that is not your goal, just Vaserlipo would be sufficient. My recommendation, however, is to first find out through ultrasound whether the swelling is caused by fat accumulation or connective tissue. If it is caused by connective tissue, procedures like Vaserlipo will not be effective, and a surgical procedure will be necessary. I do not recommend Lazerlipolysis or Coolsculpt.

An in person evaluation is best, but from the photos it appears that liposuction should be able to improve the protruding area. Because the area is small you may be a candidate for having it addressed under local anesthesia. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.

When it comes to treatment options the first step is to have a clear understanding of what the problem is.
A mini tummy tuck treats, skin laxity of the lower abdomen.
So if the problem is skin laxity of your lower abdomen then a mini tummy tuck would be a good procedure.
In your case it sounds like it’s an area of fullness along the incision line above your pubic area. This can be due to excess scar tissue, excess fat or a combination of both.
It shouldn’t be that difficult to differentiate.
Liposuction may work but it’s unlikely cool sculpting will give you a good outcome IMO.
The key to getting quality assessment and quality outcome is provider selection.
In the hands of the right plastic surgeon it should not be difficult to give you a quality assessment that clearly differentiates what the problem is or maybe.
Ideally, there should be no guessing game involved.
As scar revision may be indicated, but I think a full mini tummy tuck is overkill.
A scar revision or limited Liposuction can both be done as an office base procedure keeping cost down.I suggest first following up with the plastic surgeon who did your tummy tuck.
I also recommend having several in person consultations before selecting a provider like the surgeon who should be willing to help you with revisions if indicated.
