Loose skin/fibrosis after Lipo360 and BBL. Do I need a mini TT? (Photo)

I had lipo360/bbl and was left with this piece of loose skin/fibrosis. Will a mini TT take care of it or is there another procedure to remove the scar tissue and loose skin?

Dear Leilapour,

it depends on your skin laxity for which I would need to examine you. In general, liposuction does not help with skin laxity and a tummy tuck is the best option in this scenario. A mini tummy tuck can work great for laxity below the umbilicus but generally does not improve the area above the belly button.

From the beginning, it was clear that the excess skin would not tighten. Therefore, after Vaserlipo, the excess skin on the lower abdomen should have been removed. Now, after performing Vaser on the lower abdomen and mobilizing the skin, the excess skin can be excised. A mini tummy tuck is not necessary.

your photograph shows a pretty severe case of what can happen when you perform liposuction on somebody that has a moderate amount of skin lack city. Fortunately, it’s localized in a part of your abdomen where it would be easy to correct with a mini. Based on your picture, I don’t really appreciate any significant lack of your upper abdomen or muscle separation so yes, a mini tummy tuck should correct the problem.

Thank you for your inquiry! By your photos, it looks like you would be a great candidate for an abdominoplasty to get rid of excess skin. The only difference in a mini vs a full abdominoplasty is how long the incision is. A mini tummy tuck is going to have a smaller incision than a full tummy tuck. Muscle repair, removal of excess skin, and liposuction are all included with both a mini and a full tummy tuck. If you are only concerned about the bulging skin left behind along the incision line, a mini tummy tuck may be sufficient.

I'd suggest removing the excess skin on your lower abdomen with a tummy tuck.  A mini tummy tuck typically keeps the scar inside your hip bones which may not be adequate to remove all the excess skin.

   Thanks for posting your picture, though additional  side view would have been very helpful. From observing your picture you appear to have abdominal skin and muscles laxity. The corrective procedure depends on your goal. For optimal result you will benefit from a full tummy tuck because your muscles laxity appear to start from the mid upper abdomen. This procedure will give you flat stomach, narrower waists, improved body posture and most likely you will lose weight due to the muscle tightening that will reduce the amount of food that you can eat and your sense of hunger.
   If you are only bothered by the hanging paniculus, than just cutting it out will suffice.
    Always consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety.Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of tummy tuck surgery in the photo gallery. to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive as mentioned above.

You would do very well with a mini tuck to remove the excess skin. the muscles can be tightened if needed as well.  Go visit with your plastic surgeon.

A mini tummy tuck will improve the appearance of the loose skin on the lower abdomen.  If you have muscle separation you may want to consider a standard tummy tuck for a more complete result.  See a board certified plastic surgeon to learn more.  I've included a video I hope you find helpful.

Thank you for your inquiry and photo.  The prominent skin fold in your photo is not typically what is expected as a result of the liposuction.  At minimum a mini-tummy tuck should improve on the appearance.  A full tummy tuck might be appropriate depending on a physical exam.
