I am a 70 yr old woman who is healthy on no medications. I’m 5’4” and 127 lbs.. Had my upper and lower eyelids done about 20 years ago. Under the eyes still look great, but the uppers are getting saggy. Is it possible to redo them? Are there generally more problems the second time? Thanks for you help!

Answer: Can eyelids be lifted twice? Hello GP, How's everything there on Peachtree Road? I often will perform a second patient on a patient who had previous blepharoplasty. In most cases it is a relatively simple procedure that is done in our office under local anesthesia, most of the time a small island of excess skin is removed. Make sure to choose your treating surgeon carefully. Yall be well, ya hear? Michael A. Persky, MD Encino, CA

Answer: Repeat Eyelid Lift In short yes, an upper eyelid lift can be done a second time if you have developed recurrent excess skin with time. This can be done in the same way as the first operation without any addition risks. A more conservative amount of skin is usually removed the second time around to avoid looking overdone. Similarly to your initial blepharoplasty, this can easily be done in an office setting, awake using local anesthetia.
