Dr.Familusi is the best. I’ve been thinking about having plastic surgery since in my mid twenties after have 2 children. Now I’m in my forties and I’m glad I waited cause I found Dr.Familusi after having my third child. Having a mommy makeover with her 2 years ago was the best decision I made. I had multiple visits with her to go over the procedure. She was always patient, pleasant and kind even though I may have asked her the same questions over and over again lol. Dr. Familusi was always professional. I know having any surgery especially a very invasive surgery like what I had as a patient it’s nerve racking but she always made me feel comfortable. Dr. Familusi is a perfectionist. The morning of my surgery when she was making her makers she took her time and was very precise in making those makers.she made me feel as if I were her only patient , which is a big deal for me because there’s nothing worse than going to a doctor and you feel like your just a number or a dollar sign to them. I’m also glad I found her because she’s a woman of color like myself. She understands our skin textures and how to proportion things. I will always recommend her to everyone. I’m so happy she In Atlanta Georgia now.
From the moment we talked about what I wanted to after surgery, Dr. Familusi was great. She listened to everything that I had to say, gave advise, and my surgery turned out to be everything that I was looking for. I am extremely happy with Dr. Familusi and the staff at the office. I would definitely recommend her to other patients. It’s scary and nerve-racking sometimes to find a doctor that will help you become a better you and that you can trust and I definitely found a good one. I am so glad I found her and trusted her with my surgery. I couldn’t be more happy with my results.
I was invited to share my experience with Dr. Familusi and I of course could not pass this up. She was very informative from the initial appointment. I instantly felt comfortable and knew this is who I was going to let do my surgery. I’ve gone to 4 other doctors and never felt this level of comfort. Leading up to surgery I was very anxious but she made me feel like I had nothing to worry about. After surgery she continued to provide care by letting me contact her no matter what time it was. This created a great physician/patient relationship. Thank you so much Dr. Familusi! As an incentive for posting a review, this reviewer received an entry into RealSelf’s monthly $500 gift card giveaway.
I researched surgeons for two years before choosing Dr. Tomi. Dr. Tomi is professional, and caring. She 100% supported me throughout my healing process. Because of Dr. Tomi I have regained my confidence. I am thrilled with my results and so thankful for a surgeon who listened to my needs and put my safety first.
Dr. Familusi exemplifies exceptional qualities in patient care, blending a remarkable bedside manner with a delightful sense of humor. I appreciated her warmth and empathy from experience during the consultation in which she created a comfortable and reassuring atmosphere. Beyond her charming personality, Dr. Familusi demonstrates a profound understanding of her field, delivering realistic expectations and consistently achieving commendable results. The combination of expertise, approachability, and humor sets Dr. Familusi apart as a standout healthcare professional , and I would recommend her over and over again !
I underwent two cosmetic procedures with Dr Familusi and am thrilled with the results. She is an absolutely outstanding physician and took her time to explain both procedures thoroughly to my understanding. She is compassionate, caring and pays great attention to detail. She is absolutely the best!
Dr. Familusi and her entire team were nothing short of incredible. From the moment I called to schedule a consultation, to our first meeting, to the surgery and post-op care, Dr. Familusi has shown so much care, empathy, and most importantly skill. I’m only 2 weeks post op but so far I am thrilled with my results.
I couldn't be happier with my experience with Dr. Familusi. She walked me through the entire process and procedure and made sure I was completely comfortable and happy. She was also always available via text or call if I had any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
Bra size can vary significantly from brand to brand so it is usually not reliable. I agree with the other surgeons who have responded saying that you would benefit mostly from a small reduction and a lift to get you to your desired size. Insurance will not cover the procedure unless you surgeon agrees to remove the amount they dictate. It is up to your surgeon to determine whether or not this can be done safely. If he/she is concerned about blood flow then your surgeon will suggest a cosmetic reduction/lift
I always recommend that patients are within 5-10lbs of their goal weight before having surgery because significant changes in weight will affect your results. Although you have very dense fibrous breast some of the breast tissue if made up of fat and with 25lb weight loss your breast will decrease in size somewhat. If you have your reduction prior to weight loss you may end up with breasts much smaller than what you initially desired. Additionally significant weight loss after the surgery may affect the fullness or perkiness of your breast.
Having a second reduction always comes with an increased risk of issues with blood supply to the nipple but it can definitely be done. According to some of the existing research that risk reduces significantly once you are more than 5 years out from your initial reduction. Nevertheless the risk is never zero. More than 250 grams can be removed in a secondary breast reduction however your surgeon should have a frank discussion with you about the risk of nipple necrosis ( nipple death) and get your consent for a possible nipple graft ( nipple is removed and then sutured back in place) if there is any concern about blood flow to the nipple during the surgery.
Medically necessary surgical procedure should always take precedent over elective surgery. I would start by discussing your interest in breast reduction surgery with your cardiologist. He/she will be able to advise whether your heart is healthy enough to have your reduction first.
You primary option if insurance will not cover the procedure is to have it done as a cosmetic procedure which would be an out of pocket cost. There are several companies that offer financing to make this a feasible option for patient ( Carecredit, Alpheon, PatientFi, Cherry)
