I had Restylane lyft put in my cheeks and lips last night. Have a ton of swelling. Normal? (Photo)

You look pretty swollen in the photos. I suggest you contact your injector for a prescription to reduce swelling. I typically do not inject Lyft in the lips, but love it for the cheeks and temples. It might help to prepare next time to minimize swelling - watch the video below. Ice often, keep elevating your head and talk to your injector.

Patients can swell and bruise after any facial injectable. This is usually transient and responds to ice and elevation. Swelling or redness that occurs long after the filler has been placed--weeks to months--may indicate a problem and your should make your physician aware should this happen. In your case, the swelling should resolve in a few days with conservative treatment.

it is not unusual for fillers to cause temporary swelling.  Take a Benadryl and that may help reduce it a bit more quickly.  Lyft would not have been an appropriate product for the lips.  So hopefully you're mistaken and it was Silk.  Otherwise, you may experience more bumpiness on lips then usual.

Injection of fillers into the face can often result in swelling.  Occasionally a bruise may pop up too.  Using ice after the injection can lessen the swelling. Other ways to reduce swelling  include eating fresh pineapple and keeping your head slightly elevated when sleeping the first night.  Concerns regarding your appearance after injection should always be addressed to your doctor as they know what areas were injected and what is within normal limits.

Swelling after fillers can be quite dramatic depending on the person, the amount of filler, the type of filler, and placement of filler.  Some fillers like restylane lyft attract more water.  If filler is placed superficially or large amounts in a location, swelling can be worse.  This should resolve quickly.  Make sure to use cold compresses and sleep elevated.  Follow up with your physician if it persists as sometimes filler may need to be partially dissolved if it is creating longer term swelling.  Best of luck.

Yes, this looks like normal swelling. It can last 1-2 weeks after your injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, at that time, it can be reversed with hyaluronidase and a different technique can be used. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

It is not unusual to have swelling post Restylane injections epecially in the immediate 48 hours following injections.Some people are more reactive than  others and so the swelling may be worse. My advice is to put cool compresses and see if the swelling goes down in the  next 24 hours. If not reconsult your injector.

The Restylane Lift will have swelling associated with it but should resolve relatively soon.  It is a great product to improve the cheek area.

Some degree of swelling is to be expected after filling with any hyaluronic acid dermal filler as they do tend to attract water. But if you are feeling unwell, have itching or fever or difficulty swallowing or breathing then you should contact your doctor straight away in case you have developed a server allergic reaction.

If you don't have any of those symptoms and its just swelling, then cold compresses may help and the swelling should settle in a few days.
