Breast lift without implants? Is this realistic? (Photo)

Question

I'm currently a 36C (but they spill out of the top sometimes). My breasts look a little down on luck & I want to bring them back to life. ;-). I love how I look in my bra so I would prefer a breast lift without implants but I want to keep a C cup. Is that realistic without them being drastically smaller?

A Breast Lift alone is a great option!You will lose some of that extra, saggy skin so your breast size will be a little smaller but the shape and contour should be lovely!  Be patient while the incisions are healing, it takes some time for them to fade out.In good health,Ellen Mahony, MD

Yes, you can have a mastopexy and still expect to be close to your current cup size. I do not think you need implants and think you should obtain a very nice result with a mastopexy. Best wishes.

The fact that you feel like you have enough tissue when you're wearing a bra means you have adequate tissue to do a breast lift. This procedure will make your breasts slightly smaller given the removal of excess skin, but your breasts will have a perkier appearance.  Make sure that you see a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.

great candidate for a breast lift.  This can be designed to result in an
improved shape and contour of your breasts while minimizing scar
appearance.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after
pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon
and evaluate their results.  The most important aspect is to find a
surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a

If you like your breast size in a bra, then in all likelihood you will like them after a lift, without implants.  A lift will make your breasts look more "perky" and will reshape them, but does not remove significant volume, typically only excess skin.  Sometimes, however, after a lift, people wear a different size bra and/or cup size because of the way the new breasts fit in the bra versus the way they used to fit in a bra, as many people wear the wrong bra size when their breasts are droopy.Please seek a consultation with a real plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery experienced in these procedures.

If you are unhappy with the position of your breast and feel they are too low, then you will want to consider the lift. A lift will "lift them up" and put them in a higher position, change the size of the areola and "lift" them off of your chest. If you want your breast fuller or a little more volume on the top of the breast a lift with augmentation is recommended to achieve an optimal result. By lifting them and adding volume, the breast will not only sit higher on your chest but will also have the nice fullness from the implant. In your case a breast lift with augmentation is likely going to give you the best result.  Dr Scott Ennis

Hi there. As a general rule, performing a breast lift alone (no implants) does make the breasts a little smaller, but it is a small amount. The concept is that what is filling your bra cup currently is breast gland, fat and skin. A breast lift will remove the extra saggy skin, so your cup size will be a tiny bit smaller. Most women find this a fine trade off for the improvement in shape.

Cup sizes aren't standard, so it's hard to guarantee a cup size.  If you do not want to change the size much, then breast lift is a good option.  Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons.
