Hi RleadholmThanks for your post and your clear photo's.Lip fillers provide an effective temporary solution to help volumize your lips. Dermal filler injections add volume to the lips and typically last around 4-6 months. In some cases duration of the effects can be a bit shorter or longer. Some lip fillers like Juvederm do better on one set of clients, whilst others do better with Intraline. This is thicker and seems to have more staying power on the clients we have used that do not get on with Juvederm. It would be best to start with these, to get a feel for how big you want to go. Then you may want to go on to a more permanent solution.Permalip™ are revolutionary lip implants that are designed to look and feel natural, yet enhance your lip volume to your desired size. It does not deflate, degrade or rupture over time. Although it’s permanent, it is designed for the ease of placement if a patient wishes to achieve a larger or smaller enhancement or even return to the lips original appearance. It does not limit lip movement and provides a natural look.
You should start out with 1cc of juvederm filler and go from there. You do not want to overdo too much filler in the lips. It also depends on the look you are going for too. You can always add more filler to the lips if needed. Just remember if you are going to do your lips and you do not want to bruise you should not take any aspirins or anything that will thin the blood since brusing can occur.
the person doing the filler is what matters most. Any filler can be used with success to the lips if done by an expert in lip contouring. Best, Dr. Emer.
The best permanent filler for lips and my 35 years treating this problem is fat augmentation done by am very experienced surgeon who does not over do lips. Look at their website and before-and-after pictures to see these results. For temporary results Jupiter crystalline can be used.
There is no "most effective lip filler." I would pick a filler that your dermatologist is most comfortable and experienced using in the lips. I have treated countless patients for lip augmentation, and I have been most pleased with Juvederm Ultra, although in some cases Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Restylane can be very good options depending on age of the patient, what is the goal for the filler (e.g. softness, structure, pout) etc.
Fat Transfer by a surgeon experienced in the technique is the most long lasting, natural feeling and natural appearing result.
I prefer Restylane Silk, but Restylane and Juvederm can also provide very satisfying results. Also I recommend that you stop using the suction tool as there is potential risk for scarring and permanent disfigurement with repeated attempts.Best wishes! Harry V. Wright MD, Sarasota, florida
Plastic surgeons and dermatologist commonly treat patients with lip injections who also have an old scar. The physician wouldn't perform cosmetic injections if it's a recent injury or if there are signs of inflammation already. Depending on the appearance and location of the scar, the filler can...
Almost certainly this is not necrosis. The signs of necrosis are initially poor circulation which is blanching. This is immediate. This extends beyond the area injected. It then becomes more painful than usual and gets a reticulated or mottled appearance. Over 2-3 days, the tissue starts to die,...
It is impossible to tell from the photo if these are sun spots or the nature of the lesion. Please consult a board certified dermatologist for evaluation of these pigmented spots. If they are sun spots then they can be removed with a laser. If they are moles it may be more complicated. B...
