I felt a sore throat coming on yesterday and this morning I am coughing and hacking stuff up. Am I safe to get filler today ?

I would postpone until you are not sick. This is an elective procedure, no need to take additional risk. Get better and then go have it done!

I recommend waiting until you are well before having Juvederm. However, I recommend following up with your injector about their protocol. It will take 1-2 weeks for final results. Best, Dr. Emer

While there should not be a problem with getting Juvederm in your lips with a cough and sore throat, I would recommend waiting until you are feeling better.  I think it is always best to have elective cosmetic procedures when you are feeling your best and from a purely personal standpoint, I would prefer not having patients who are sick coming into my office.

It is best for you to postpone your filler treatment until you are feeling healthy.  If you have an active infection you will want that resolved before proceeding with fillers. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Thank you for the question. It is not advisable to get a cosmetic procedure performed if you actively have an infection that is not being treated. There is always a risk of infection post filler treatment and your risk rises as your immune system is compromised. See you primary care physician for treatment of illness and reschedule the appointment with your injector after clearance by your doctor.

I am so sorry you aren't feeling well! Please reschedule your filler appointment, your injector and her/his staff will thank you.  Your procedure will go smoother if you aren't coughing up "stuff".

It is safe to get filler if you have a little bit of a cold however this is not an emergency procedure anything. You will feel better and the recovery after the fillers will be much more smooth and comfortable if you wait a week or two until you feel 100% 

I wait until you have recovered from you illness before having the filler treatment just to be safe.
