I just had lipo 6 mons ago. I requested for a high definition ab edging thinking it was just the parallel line of my muscle showing in upper ab However, my surgeon went agressive amd make the line in my lower ab as well and now it looks lumpy, ripple and so fake. Is there a procedure to correct it? It looks really bad under over head lighting. My lower abs got ruined. :(((
Answer: Can try Re-Fat Grafting Ideally would need to see a preop photo, and better current photos more than just one angle to really give you a true opinion (without an in person exam) - but the lower etching seems to follow the lower V cut line (internal obliques) - I'm unsure what you looked preop to versus now. So its hard to guess if these lines were made slightly off. the midline etch might be a little wide for your body frame and yes this would be considered a more aggressive etch since the etching is very distinct versus a lighter etch where you have fainter etch lines for a more softer look. Fat grafting back to these areas can possibly help you lighten some of the lines up but that is not an easy procedure and if that fails, might try sculptra or some type of filler to see if you can fill the lines to make them less noticeable.

Answer: Not happy with the outcome of my ab etching. Is there a procedure to correct it? Thanks so much for your inquire, If you're not satisfied with the results of your ab etching procedure, there are several options you can consider to correct or improve the outcome . If there are significant issues with the initial procedure, such as uneven contours or asymmetry, a revision surgery might be necessary, this involves going back into surgery to adjust the contours and improve the overall appearance. Treatments like laser lipolysis or ultrasound-assisted liposuction can help smooth out any irregularities and enhance the definition. Before deciding on any corrective action, it's crucial to have a thorough discussion with your surgeon to understand the risks, benefits, and expected outcomes of any additional procedure Sincerely, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol

Answer: Concerns About Abdominal Etching Outcome: Exploring Options Hello, I'm sorry to hear that your abdominal etching outcome didn't meet your expectations. Achieving the desired results with abdominal etching can be challenging, and sometimes the outcome may not align with what was initially envisioned. Abdominal etching is a delicate procedure that involves sculpting the underlying abdominal muscles to create definition and enhance muscle contours. However, the success of the procedure depends on various factors, including the surgeon's technique, your body's response to the surgery, and your aesthetic goals. It's important to understand that abdominal etching, particularly when done aggressively, can sometimes result in a rippled or unnatural appearance, especially in the lower abdominal region. This can occur due to uneven fat removal or inadequate soft tissue support. Moving forward, I recommend consulting with your surgeon to discuss your concerns and explore potential options for correction. Depending on the specific issues you're facing, revision surgery or alternative treatments such as fat transfer may be considered to improve the appearance of your abdomen. It's essential to approach any further interventions cautiously and ensure that your surgeon fully understands your aesthetic goals and concerns. Together, you can work towards achieving a result that aligns with your expectations and enhances your overall satisfaction with the outcome. Sincerely, J. Timothy Katzen, MD, FASMBS, FICS Plastic and Aesthetic Surgeon

Answer: Wait Hello Dear, my advice is to wait until you have 1 year pop, due to the scar process needs more than 12 months to end. Then we can make another procedure to enhance the result.
