There would be minimal risk if Botox was injected into a blood vessel during your treatment. The amount of product used to treat nasal flaring is very small. You may be confusing the risk of Botox in a vessel with filler in a vessel. Fillers that are directly injected into a blood vessel can cause occlusion since they are a gel product. Botox is a liquid.
botox cannot harm the nose, the only issue is that if not done properly it can affect your smile. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question. There is minimal risk if Botox is injected into an artery or a vein. Especially the small amounts that are used for nose flaring. Fillers are a different story, and injection of fillers into an artery can cause more serious complications. Make sure you are under the care of an experienced physician. Best wishes.
Botox is a liquid. It is not a gel like the hyaluronic acid fillers. Injecting the gels into vessels can rarely cause circulation problems. I should stress these events causing a problem are truly rare and steps can be taken to make treatment even safer. This is simply not an issue with Botox.
Thank you for sharing your question. The most common risk in that case would be a bruise for the patient, you may be confusing Botox with dermal fillers which may block an artery if inadvertently injected.
Thank you for your questionDespite there being a risk of occlusion with fillers injected into veins, there are, as yet, no risks of botox being injected into arteries and veins. If anything, it may improve the blood flow as it relaxes the muscle surrounding the artery
The amounts of botox used to reduce wrinkles and nose flaring are so small that they will not affect you if it is accidentally injected into a blood vessel. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MDBoard-Certified Plastic Surgeon
