Hi @Courageous631849! Great questions. There are a few reasons why Botox does not last in some people. 1, You are being under dosed. Average patient uses 64 units for the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet. 2. High metabolizer. Reasons for this include aerobic exercise running, HIIT. Going into steam rooms and saunas. 3. You develop Botox resistance. Your body is developing antibodies against Botox, which makes your results less potent.
Hello,Thank you for your question. Botox injection is an excellent treatment for facial wrinkles and works by temporarily paralyzing the targeted muscles. Results typically last 3-4 months and the duration is similar for first-time users vs. someone who is having repeat injections.I would recommend an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, in order to discuss your goals and concerns for the best cosmetic results. I hope this helps. Best regards, Dr. KaranetzDr. Irena KaranetzFellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
Thank you for your question. Botox lasts 3-4 months on average for patients, which is also true for first timers. If you do not feel it lasted that time the injector might need to up the dosage for desired result. I hope this helps and best of luck to you.
Hello Courageous,Great question! Botox and other current neuromodulators are NOT known to wear off faster for first time users. Although rare, some people can develop a tolerance for botox, and have a shorter duration of effect with repeat treatments.Facial expressions shouldn't impact the duration of your treatment. The medication works on the nerves that innervate our facial muscles. Botox blocks the nerves from sending signals to the muscle that tell them to contract. Some people are fast metabolizers and will break down the Botox quicker than others, but for most people, the expected duration of effect is anywhere from 2-6 months depending on the product used and the dosing.Hope this answer was helpful! All the best,Dr GDominick Gadaleta, MDDG Facial Plastic SurgeryPalo Alto, CA
Botox should last 3-4 months. It is very dose dependent meaning that if your Botox does not last as long you might need to increase the number of units.
Thank you for sharing your question. Although botox doesn't wear off "faster" for a first timer, most commonly early metabolism takes place due to not enough being placed. It is a trial and error process to see how sensitive a patient is to the product so adjustments often need to be made.
Botox generally lasts up to 4 months. It works by paralyzing the muscles directly beneath the skin. If the muscles don't contract, then the skin can be prevented from creating or avoided from showing lines. If lines are too deep, that is when additional fillers are necessary.
Thank you for your question! Botox on average lasts about 3-4 months where you are a new patient or long term botox user. There are some people that metabolize botox quicker than average and there are some people that botox lasts longer than the normal 3-4 months. After having a botox treatment done we recommend making 50 certain facial expressions immediately after having your treatment but after that you do not need to do it again. Hope this helps!
Botox treatments are in full effect two weeks after injection. The results will gradually fade over three to four months for typical patients. This is true for first time patients as well. If the results are not lasting for you it may be that more product is needed. I encourage you to return to your injector for an evaluation.
Hello and thank you for your question- making facial expressions will have no impact on the longevity of the results- Botox last approximately 3 months by the time you would need a further treatment.I hope that helps with your query, best wishes
